GA game in 78 cost him Heisman, he got hurt and that felon UGA (redundant I know) L Scott took back a KO 101 yards. Met CA once, seemed like a real nice man.

Fournette was 12 Games, Alexander was 11, he rushed for another 194? Against Stanford University coached by Bill Walsh, but it wasn't added to the statistics as it is now.

My American History II textbook had been Alexander's the year before. He signed : "Charles Alexander/Broussard Hall". I still have it 40 years later.....

Charles was great. Big, fast, and physical. Not a lot of wiggle though.

Great Tiger!

10 game seasons back then. Lost to Stanford in the Sun Bowl that year if memory serves.

I think '69 was the last "10 game" season. We began playing 11 regular season games in '70.

I was at LSU when he played. Dude was big and fast. Not the shiftiest, but the toss sweep was bada@%. David Woodley was QB (split with Ensminger) and 47 Hokie Gajan was the FB leading for him. CA went to Galveston Ball high. On campus, he was quite the celebrity. Had a chest and shoulders like a linebacker!

One of the best ever.... a Herschel Walker type back. Big, fast, strong. Could catch it too.
