This. For real. It looks janky, and ideally they come up with something less... ugly in the long term, but I don't see this as a problem at all. It makes it easier to call runners interference since they now don't have any excuse to be in the base path whereas theoretically without one they kind of do.

Dumbest rule in sports. Especially in lower levels where we are trying to watch pitch counts and protect arms, (and catchers arent very good.)
