my sure to be unpopular thought is that we should change from the yellow "gold" we have now back to the gold we used in the pro combat uniforms (and in the 1920s or whenever it was). use the pro combat helmets and just change the current uni to incorporate the new gold color.

would be bad arse IMO.

though I like our current uniforms just fine.

this is my thing. The current uni's stand out as much as any CFB in America. When you see a promo etc LSU stands out in these because of the color scheme/style.

not for me. IMO would make LSU "look" like about 25-30 other schools, would not stand out- did not stand out in the one game they wore them. Not a fan, just not very distinctive to me

What makes our uni special is the traditional dual-color stripes on the jersey, pants and helmet. You can actually mix any combo of purple, gold, and white and as long as you keep the basic design clean and simple it will kick a$$.

Although I like the old gold better than the yellow, it would look a whole lot like ucla's unis

I don't understand how anyone in this thread can hate on the white jerseys...
white jerseys are to LSU football as gold jerseys are to LSU baseball. It's tradition.

It doesn't mean they look the best.

It looks like someone from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" designed it. Our traditional uniforms are the best in college football, so stop screwing with 'em.

Stop the madness!

I like this look too. Gold jerseys, gold helmet, and white pants might not look bad either.

But, always hang on to the current look. That's the heart of LSU.

I think we should rotate the different jerseys to use once a year. For instance:

One year- yellow jerseys white pants/helmet
Another year- all white
The next year- purple jerseys white pants/helmets

And just rotate each year, All The while not losing the classic style. An certianly not pro combat or any other variation

the white jersey's and gold pants and helmet have been around since 1956,57...we used to wear the "old gold" colored helmets with purple stripe (like the Nike "combat" w/o the LSU logo and no number(s)) and purple jerseys and old gold pants up until that time('56/57)..also the "LSU" logo on the helmets have only been around since 1974/5..we used to just put the players numbers on the sides of the helmets...

Might as well chalk up a big 'L' if you change the uni based on recent history. LSU is better than that and it honors the opposing team IMO. Don't give them anything and go with the whites.
