This is still Bertman's Program

Through these few weeks one thing keeps occurring to me when talking about the coaching search, this is still Skips program. No one was discussing a baseball hire in 1983 or even cared. Everyone knows the reason we are relevant is Skip. He directed the last two hires, He is a driving force behind this one.

So for everyone that is bitching about the potential of Bianco, and how it is not good for our program(which I tend to agree), remember this: This isn't our program and probably wont be until Skip has gone to meet his maker. It's His. He built it and for damn sure nothing will happen without his seal of approval.

We might just have to live with it for now.

Go read McDonnell’s comments on his respect for the LSU job and Skip. That didn’t come out of nowhere.

Take it for what it’s worth, but Skip has apparently been very vocal about Dan being his preference. He’s not driving this like you think.

Bianco is a Woodward candidate if there ever was one.

Why does this surprise you? Skip built the program from nothing, it's his legacy. I'd assume Skip cares about the future of LSU baseball and wouldn't want LSU to hire someone he didn't think could compete for titles.

Just like every LSU baseball fan, Skip has an opinion and is probably able to see a more complete picture about what makes a good coach for LSU baseball. Bianco wouldn't be my first choice to replace Manieri either, but that may end up coming to pass. If so, I'll root for the man to succeed.

I think Bianco would do better than most people are giving him credit for. If Skip wants Mike, it's over and I tend to think things are that way bc no one understands it better than Skip. So, if Skip says it's Mike. F'n ride with Mike. Skip isn't trying to head fake anybody, if it's Bianco it's bc that's what LSU thought was best.

Seems unlikely but if that’s the case, and SW truly thinks he’s the best guy, then fine. We pay him to hire who he thinks are the best available coaches.

This is an interesting take.

If the rumors about Bo Pelini are correct then I actually can see what you mean here.

Consider the source, but Ronnie Rantz on the mid-day show stated that Bianco was Skip's (& his players') choice & Godwin was Paul's (& his players') choice.

Regardless who is hired, they'll be deemed a failure by the majority of this board if they don't win multiple national titles during their tenure.

Same bullshite different sport.

It was the same when Saban left, didn't matter who was hired to replace him, he was doomed from the start with a large portion of the fanbase.

This will be no different, because thry can't replicate what Skip did, sorry to break it to you, no one ever will

Question is…. How long do they have to win their first title?
