we'll see how they replace Rolando McClain and Fat Cody.

They will replace them with good players who are well coached and will perform well, just like all good programs do when they lose players. They sure as hell won't flounder in mediocrity for two years because they lost a couple of great players.

Yep, in 2009 they replaced THREE starters in the offensive line, but still produced a Heisman Trophy for their SOPHMORE running back. They had a new starting QB with very little game experience, yet they went undefeated again and won the S.E.C.W., S.E.C. and National Championship. Losing talented starters is no excuse for well coached and disciplined programs......

Low has the right to his opinion. Mine is that Bama's toughest regular season game will happen in Baton Rouge, just as in '08 when they were more than fortunate to win in OT.

'08 vs Bama was the only time that I ever witnessed Les Miles with some sincere passion from the sideline. That's probably only because Miles tries to make this game a "personal" issue.

The rest of the time, he's staring in a daze out over the top of the East Upper Deck and thinking about gymnastics ...

If they right the ship on offense next season and the defense continues to improve, all will be forgiven and the bandwagon will again be full. Until that happens, THIS unit hasn't earned that respect. The pieces are there, they just have to perform up to their potential.

because they played with a lot of desire for finishing 2nd and still showed the want to win despite a 35-3 loss last year

1) I don't disagree that LSU's last two seasons were underwhelming. The defensive struggles and pick 6's in '08 and the low total offense ranking and the 2nd straight loss to Ole Miss in '09 are reasons for concern.

2) LSU is still a very talented football team that is not outclassed by the best programs in the country and can go toe to toe with them.

3) I can't believe some of you guys need to go looking for validation from ESPN sports writers like Chris Low and fans of opposing schools.

4) For those of you who are LSU fans, show a little frickin'pride in your team from time to time. For those of you who are fans of other schools playing around, screw you.

this is same kind of mentality that got George W. Bush reelected. constructive criticism is a good thing. flaming at posters who don't agree with you isn't.

I couldn't have said it any better!

I read some of the tired, never ending BS posted here and begin to think I must be on a Bama or Ga or Fla or Tech or Cajun forum and not an LSU forum.

If you think what's been going on here for the last month or so is constructive criticism, then you and I have a different understanding of that term.

To me, constructive criticisim is made directly to person you are trying to improve and contains 1) an explanation of what that person is doing right and why so that the behavior can be reinforced; 2) an explanation of what that person is doing wrong and why so that the behavior can be changed; and 3) The best, most efficient and most profitable way to change the wrong things.

That doesn't really strike me as similar to a lot of what's been going on here.
