It’s been a long time since we have had a prototypical nasty LSU defense but it’s on the way back! You younger guys who aren’t thrilled with this move just hold your judgment until you see the product on the field. You are going to love seeing a downhill attacking defense that gets after the QB every play.

2005 wasn’t that long ago

Why are you acting like Pelini coached defense when Cannon was playing offense

Ah yes the negative comment, what the rant does best. I simple said for the younger guys in their early 20’s probably don’t remember the Pelini days that well. How about you change your tampon Jesus Christ.

I have no judgment on whether pelini is a good or bad hire. I trust O at this point.

But offenses are more sophisticated now. Kiffin/Mullin/Leach will pick a defense apart if all you do is straight forward attack and blitz. You’ve got to be more creative to confuse them and their qb’s

It kind of was, though. 15 years is a long time in offense years, especially since the number of teams running a true spread has shot up in the past 5 years.

ETA: I do love this hire, though. I’m excited to see how much he’s still got.

I'm excited to see our DC go ape shite on the sidelines. Will be quite a departure from Aranda.

Most of the people bitching about the Pelini hire weren't old enough to know how nasty his LSU defenses were. With the talent remaining to go along with the guys coming in (PLEASE come here Jordan Burch!), the intensity will be through the roof. He's a great coach, players love him and I believe he's one of the best defensive minds in the country. I can't wait to see his Defense on 09/05/20!

Looking forward to seeing the front 4 consistently get pressure and then a 5th rusher delivering the timely kill shot on drives.
