Furthermore, I'd take two bad seasons if Wade won a NC. Finally, if LSU loses another key player, they might tank to that level THIS year. I don't think O gave a single shite and had poor character. However, you lose your best players off any team, you will lose bigly.

The biggest difference between football and basketball at LSU is that in football the expectation is NC or bust. We have the reputation and the expectation to be a title contender every year.

In basketball we are a middle of the road team who may have a great run once every 10 years or so. We aren’t in the same class of Duke, Kentucky, UNC, others.

The fact that LSU will likely make the tourney for 4 straight seasons (I’m counting the COVID year) is a great accomplishment for a program who made 2 NCAAT over the last two coaches. We haven't made 4 straight NCAAT since Dale Brown. Will Wade even if he fails to make the NCAAT and only makes the NIT a failure but still better than the past would make 5 straight post seasons (again including the COVID canceled year) which hasn't been done since John Brady when he made 5 straight post season tournaments from 2002 to 2006.

We don't worship wade we just realize he is a good coach that has the program moving in the right direction
