Sad part is the writer wasn't going for comedy. He thought it was solid analysis based on his middle school football experience.

He wants to take away Jackson's sacks as i he wasnt going to take off and run on some them. Thats what has made Jackson so productive. Improvisation and taking off on pass plays. He actually said Jackson had 70 yards rushing.

Just as today's journalist are ill prepared for their job, I am afraid that many of the sports writers were hired because they published a blog.

The guy has a point. I mean...if you take away LSU's 394 yds of total offense, three TDs, 2 Field Goals and the safety, Louisville wins 9-0.

I just see him as being at his ceiling right now and an average QB at best. He has some nice things about him like pocket awareness but you can see his physical limitations hold him back in games. Playing defenses with a pulse really exposed those parts. That said, defensive performance was elite hard to complain about anything there. Article really is dumb. Can't believe I gave it hits.

I think there is one area where he can improve that hurt us in 3 of the 4 losses this year. Etling has good mechanics and awareness and goes through his reads and makes good decisions....when he is comfortable in the pocket. When he is under constant threat from a pass rush, as was the case in the Auburn, Bama, and (to a lesser degree) the UF game, he got rattled. This also happened Saturday. When it happens, his mechanics and decision making start to suffer. He starts to miss open receivers and miss on plays he would normally make. The problem is that he doesn't have enough raw talent or ability to overcome how much this brings his game down.

If Etling can develop more mental toughness and stay more focused in the pocket when under pressure from a good defense, we wouldn't see quite so much of a drop off in his performance. Of course, it would also help if the O Line did their part and kept the pressure off of him.

If Etling can't do this in the offseason, then he's eventually going to get pushed for the starting job.
