There's always head scratchers after a game is over...

but what stands out the most during this win over Moo State, was the last seconds of the game. Why would you hand the ball off vs just taking a knee?? I got it, that there was nothing Moo State could have done at that time to win... but still.

While I get your point that is definitely not anything I thought about after the play ended. More pressing matters were on my mind.

OP is correct. I remember years ago on the last play of the game ,Saban ran a play. Ben Wilkerson tore up his knee on a useless play and was never the same again. It cost him the pros too.it can and does happen so why do it?

I agree why take the chance of an injury. I like the idea that in college and the pros the quarterback goes to the line and tells both lines that he is taking a knee. Snap the ball take a knee and no one gets injured.

I was going to say anything but I was wondering why we wouldn’t just kneel as well.

That is strange. There were other things that seemed much more crucial and inexplicable. Such as fumbling the read option exchange at close to mid field, kick off out of bounds, just to name a couple. My point…there were a lot more obvious player errors than coaching errors.

If I recall I think State had timeouts and LSU thought they may use them. Instead LSU made them quit and they had enough.
