Glad you found one.

Best opportunity to win was with Skenes and was wasted

I was thinking this during the bottom of the 10th. Sucks to lose one where Skenes pitched so well but we should have favorable matchups at the plate the rest of the weekend. Problem is our staff also drops off a shite ton after today

They’re going to crush our pitching from now on. Just like they did once Skenes was done

Every game is an opportunity to win. Not sure if y’all are worse than children or women.

Their best opportunity was to throw their best two pitcher back to back.

That helps for tomorrow for sure. But I think the best thing long-term is that our true freshman LH hitting catcher tied the game up with a bomb against Arkansas’s best pitcher—also a lefty—when it looked like we were pretty much done.

I hate this board, especially after games like this (not directed at you, Adam), but there were a couple of good things we can build on, and a couple of really bad things we can learn from.

People acting like it’s the end of the world on March 24th are too stupid to even engage with. We’ll be better later from what we learned today. Even the bad things. Especially the bad things. Roles will be re-arranged. Limitations will be learned. We may not be as great as we thought (doesn’t mean we can’t win the CWS). But I’d rather figure out that Little can’t be counted on to throw strikes in a late-inning close game, that Shores loses command around his 3rd inning, that Jones and White are gonna see almost all sliders and fastballs out of the zone until the prove they can lay off them, etc…in late March than late May.

We’re cool man.

Nobody realizes our top 4 series are week 1-4. Even a 4-5 is not a death sentence.

We started 10-8 in the SEC in 2017 and ended up 21-9 and won the conference. People are overreacting to one bad 10th inning. We’d given up 1 run on 2 hits through 9. And absent a passed ball in the 4th, we win that game 1-0. It sucks but it happens. Hell, we lost a baseball game 28-2 in 1997.

Arky didn't handle Shores too well, and he was mostly just throwing number 1s. I think Little hurt himself - he got behind in counts, walked people, so he couldn't lean on his cutter. I really don't see Little as a high leverage closer or fire extinguisher anyway. He can close if he comes in with nobody on. He may have some good matchups to put out fires but this wasn't it, and he didn't help himself. Ack should've been in after Shores.

Arky's pitching drops off way more than ours does. Arky can swing it, though, so we can't afford the base running mistakes and wasted at bats with runners on. Arky is explosive like we are, so they look like they're sleeping then they sting you. I think Jay bringing Hellmers in, as much as I hate it, shows that he believes that plenty runs will be scored tomorrow...so he wants as many bullets in the chamber as possible.

Looks like that late game, high pressure experience Neal gained last weekend in College Station proved valuable.

The silver lining is that I got my yard done between the game and the rain
