Lee showed flashes with a couple of deep balls in the Oregon game. The one called back for the holding penalty wasn't perfect, but it wasn't 10 yards over the receiver's head like we have gotten used to. He also showed perfect touch on the over the shoulder throw to Peterson, so I think there is real reason for hope here. Other than the A&M game last year, and Georgia Tech in the 08 peach Bowl, JJ just hasn't been able to provide this for the offense, and for a running team, that is BAD NEWS. Lee doesn't have to have 2000 yards passing and 20 TDs. He just needs to take care of the ball and get the 8th and 9th guys out of the box. That's all it takes for the offense to really get going.

THIS! thats all i am saying....

I'll be honest. Early in the game, I had a brief thought of "uh oh, would be nice to have JJ right about now".
I'll be honest...that thought NEVER crossed my mind.....EVER.

one point you have to consider is that most of his completions were right over the middle of the field. lee didn't really provide a comprehensive awareness of the position. he also looked terrible in the one pressure situation he was in. considering some tiny cb was trying to jam RR all night, it is odd that he did get the ball much. lee did fine, but there are certainly some things he could improve. he does not look like a veteran qb out there and i have never talked to so many people who feel 98 yards of passing offense is adequate. i don't care who is the qb, but we need more out of him.

that wasn't the only pressure situation. there was a blitzer bearing down on him on the TD throw. also the throw to Boone was pretty on target even though Ford let a dude get to Lee on a free pass. just saying.

WTH? MF and MM will go down in LSU history as very good QB's who did what we needed to win NC's! They didn't have the flashy numbers, but they helped get keep the chains moving. Something we've lacked the past 3 years.

Overall, I feel much better about the qb position now having seen some great throws against Northwestern. Yes I know it was Northwestern, but the throws were accurate, unlike many throws last year, even against sub-par competition.

Based on what you saw in the game, and reports from fall practice, how do you guys think the QB situation is?

I feel even better that Lee can not only manage the game but can win it for us as well.
