Statistics are not the only qualifications in this discussion. It's the human element. Perception.

I'm not saying LSU is subpar. I'm just saying LSU is not on the same level as Ok, Texas, Bama, USC, Ohio State, Florida.

If they are platinum, LSU is gold.

Still a national power, just not Top 5

You people really think LSU has a better program than Texas, Florida and USC? Not this year, but overall? If so then you are all sick from sunshine poisoning.

How do you measure "better program"?

this.
Historically, LSU comes in at the 10-13 range.

You are an idiot! LSU is a very elite program! People talk about how great and rich in tradition LSU's program is. We are up there with the Alabama's, Texas', and USC's, esp. in the last 10 years.

No offense Lacour, but you are full of it.

IF you are just going by ALL Time then YALE and PRINCETON are 1 and 2 by a mile then Michigan and ND (which I notice didn't make your list) are 3,4 with Alabama rounding out the top 5.

How many of those programs have ANY relevance whatsoever in today's CFB world?

Bama, that's it.

Now let's talk about the BCS era, how are we doing?

not too bad, in fact if you look at winning percentage, bowls, rankings, NCs, etc... LSU has been the MOST consistent and most elite team in CFB this entire decade.

You want to trade up with Texas or Bama (we know the truth) then go for it. You'd be a fine Gump (or steer humper).

Have a GREAT day.

Is there a difference between elite and very elite?

You have to respect someone to take offense to their comments.

Who gets more love?

LSU or Texas, Florida or USC?

I think I'd trade programs with any of them.

100% coaching related.

Not saying right or wrong. But I believe that's the reason, even though I think Mack Brown sucks.

We as relevant if not more relevant than any of those programs

Relevant is a good word to use. However LSU gets SOOOO much press from GOOFS by Miles with certain things and mistakes he does ,compared to LSU'S GREAT OVERALL PLAY. BUT LSU has had a better year than the teams mentioned.

overall....we're right there with them. And if weren't for the 90's we'd be even closer and way ahead of UF

SUCK ON IT

At this point in time....the "perception" is that LSU is better than USC, Michigan, and Notre Dame....just to name a few

and stop being a woman in every thread you post in. Maybe you should take another break.

Pulling ahead of Tennessee is a big deal IMO. Would love to see us jump Nebraska as well.

I can see all of those, but not Florida. Why Florida? LSU has more all-time wins, a higher winning percentage, more bowl appearances, more bowl wins, a higher bowl winning percentage, more championships....

Oddly enough though considering all of the above, Florida leads the LSU-Florida series. But I don't think that makes LSU a lesser program than Florida.

overall, we are every bit as good as any of those programs. better? no. worse? no. texas typically grosses more money than us but they have a larger stadium and charge more for their tickets. there's more money in austin than baton rouge. and even then, we are close. same with florida. i think we have a better overall program than usc. yes, they had their run with pete carrol but they may be awile recovering from the probation with kiffin in charge.
