A lot of people talk about the new bats, and how the game is more like MLB now.
I don't watch much MLB at all, but there is no way ^ that scenario happens in the bigs.
only time you see a sac bunt in the first three innings of a MLB game is if a pitcher comes up with guys on. Other than that bunting int he first three innings is rare. The college ball flys off the bat about the same as the pros but the ball has more drag to it. Pro guys can hit with those kind of bats but college guys can't as much. This is why I liked the 2009 bat because it wasn't good enough to where you have a weak fly ball that carries out the park, but it isn't so bad that you square up a breaking curve ball and crush it and it is a fly out to the warning track.
I found this video LINK, this is what I hate about this park. MSU pitcher hangs a 12-6 curve letter high, he crushes it but these bats balls and park keeps what clearly should have been a home run in the park.

Hitters putting great swings on a couple balls and getting screwed.
I know its sad to bellyache and bitch about it, but this is a terrible brand of baseball, just as Gorilla Ball was in the 90's.

I really hope they move the fences in like 10 feet or something. New ball next year will help but this stadium is still to big.
edit: yep as I expected leadoff double than they trade 2 outs for a run.

I dont mind that the ballpark is big.
They faced it the wrong direction.
I may be wrong, but I think Hoover is bigger than TD is.
The ball just carries a bit better in Hoover.

The dimensions of TDA are the same as Rosenblatt but it's orientation is different. Rosenblatt played generally with a favorable wind while TDA is the opposite. Really dropped a bomb spending that much money on a stadium that has such a terrible on-field product as a result.

yeah the wind almost always blows in at TDA. Rosenblatt was on a hill and usually dealt with a cross wind, which isn't bad for offense. It was very big but the bats at-least the ones before bbcore were good, you can hit it out on a mistake pitch but usually a lazy fly ball won't carry out. It was great balance. Bats and balls suck, TDA very nice place to watch a game but because it is almost always into the wind it plays to big.

yep home plate at the Blatt is somewhere down the 1st baseline compared to TDA, meaning this strong wind would be blowing out towards left. (at worse it would be blowing towards the foul pole. That will kill a ball going to right, but really help a ball going to left)
another 1-0 game through 3
another 1-0 game through 3

I was sitting right there when he hit that, I thought it was way out of the park off the bat.
