Actually, the guy that took that pic was Gus Stark, my nephew and current LSU sports photographer.

Look at the photo in the article. The byline reads, "Photo Illustration by Dan Larkin; Gus Stark/LSU" The illustration was Dan Larkin, the original photographer was Gus Stark. Looks like SI used 2 photos for their article. The cover one was by Gus (while smoking and the smoke surrounds him) and the other one was by Marx.

Yeah, the Marx one was the first viral one. The story around this is incredible.
