What if we have bad corners? Or our LBers?

Every player is "the key" the only depth and talent that we clearly have on defense is the line.

The safeties could be all americans but it wont mean shite if the corners suck

If you meant '22, corner is a bigger key. If you did mean '23, can we see the '23 roster first?

The key to the entire 22 season I believe is the Dline. If they can play at a elite level it will cover up the questions in the secondary and make their job much easier.

Have no clue about 2023

Yep, Dline is the key, it’s all about time, and having little time to get rid of the ball makes safeties much, much better if they don’t have to cover deep. Dline is always the key. If you have to rely on safeties, you are asking for trouble

Agreed. And the key to the 29 offense will be the scat back.

Well those positions are set in stone with Ward and Foucha so I would disagree. The key to the defense will be how the new corners play and the key to the offense as always will be the OL.

This was my takeaway after the UCLA game. LSU's sacks came from our secondary wrapping up their receivers thus buying our linemen more time, whereas UCLA's Dline was getting to Johnson without needing such assistance from their secondary.

If the Dline can get pressure consistently, there is no need for the secondary to play like all americans
