The Irony in all of this

Kelly is suing for his full buyout. If he were to win, the state of Louisiana would then be directly liable for it because LSU would owe damages and it would be outlined in the court proceedings. Now a private donor could still pick up the tab, but Jeff Landry’s whole “we don’t want the taxpayer responsible for the buyout” argument is ridiculous. If things had proceeded normally with Woodward’s ousting of Kelly this wouldn’t have happened, but Landry’s camp saying Woodward didn’t have the power to fire Kelly makes the state more liable for the buyout than it was before. Landry is just a dumbass

the court isn't going to dictate he be paid by tax payer $. It also won't get to that point. But they will not dictate where the $ comes from that pays him as long as hes paid.

Right I agree that it won’t get there, I’m just pointing out the irony that Landry’s decisions have actually made the Louisiana taxpayer more liable for Kelly’s buyout.

Well thats why I laughed when he pushed to fire Woodward which was another $6mil LSU was on the hook for. The hypocrisy is real.
