The “Film” Argument

The way I see it, you’ve got two options:
1. Go ultra vanilla and show nothing on film until your first big game.
Or
2. Throw so much stuff out there that your opponent has too much to adequately prepare for.
Option 1 would have been fine if you start out with 2 cupcakes, but that wasn’t the case. Miami was our first big game and we already put several things on film. This coaching staff took the wrong approach last night in trying to mask our offense. Any decent coaching staff will dissect the Miami film and anticipate the next progressions in our offense. This won’t be hard because we’re so easy to prepare for and scheme against.
I feel like we’ve been saving the screen game so as not to put it on film, but maybe if we had shown a little bit of competence in counteracting the blitz, then maybe Auburn would have to curtail its defensive game plan.
Get ready to watch Auburn expose all of the “next progressions” of this offense on Saturday.

Lol if you think this offense has been part of some “secret plan” to hide how good it really is.

That’s not what I’m saying at all.
I’m saying not calling whatever we’ve got in the bag isn’t masking anything. Other teams are smart enough to take what they saw in the Miami game and reasonably figure out what we might call.

This is one of a myriad of reasons that suggests the secret playbook is complete horseshite.
I'd people think we're going to come out 3-4 wide against Auburn, we would have done it against Miami.

exactly....
so, basically, we've seen what we've got on offense, and unless our OL play gets DRASTICALLY better, and Burrow gets a better clock in his head, it's about to get really, really rough from here out...

Part of me wants to believe that it was vanilla play calling for one reason. Against Miami, we seen quick slants, attempts at a running back screen, and RPO's. Almost all of us expected LSU to build on its performance from Miami but for ensminger to come out and call the game the way he did was very disappointing to say the least. He called yesterdays game the same way he called the 2nd half of the Miami game.
