lee reminds me of jr....he threw alot of picks that either cost us games or nearly cost us games.....the last tenn. game in knoxville in jr's junior year where he threw 4 int's that nearly cost us the game but made that comeback is just one game that comes to mind (i was there and pissed that i was the only person to be patted for alcohol...they didnt pat my socks where i kept it though
) just let the team get through this season and i am pretty sure when next year comes arround so will lee....and hopefully we'll get a defensive coordinator that actually gets the defense ready to play a damn game and will be back on top once again

he's not playing timid because of them
Actually the reason he throws the INTs is b/c he is timid. He is so ready to get rid of the ball in lieu of getting sacked.
Flynn locked on to his WRs too but when the WR was not open he pulled it back and ran or took the sack. JLee needs to learn to just hold onto the ball when his WR is covered and JUST TAKE THE SACK!!

From the Game Notes posted on LSU Sports.net:
Lee's Numbers Best For LSU Freshman QB Since Hodson In 1986
Say what you want about Jarrett Lee, but the numbers show that he's having the best season for a freshman quarterback at LSU since Tommy Hodson in 1986. In eight games this year, Lee has thrown for 1,427 yards ands 12 TDs. Lee's current passing numbers are the most by a Tiger quarterback since Hodson threw for 2,261 yards and 19 scores as a rookie with LSU in 1986. Lee goes into the Alabama game having thrown at least 2 TD passes in five of LSU's eight games this year, including a career 3 vs. Georgia. Lee also threw for a career-high 287 yards against the Bulldogs.

It's the fact he keeps gettting picked off by the middle linebacker. Middle Linebacker? Are you kidding me? He either can't see over the line, or the kids locking onto his receiver so desperately that EVERY MLB in the SEC knows that when Lee drops back, simply run in the direction his helmet turns.
He has GOT TO correct that and start looking off the defenders.

The LBs do that because the opposing coaches have seen something in film. It's up to our coaches to address that and changes routes and primary receivers. But, yes, locking onto a receiver the whole play is something Lee needs to get better at.
Really though, you have to admire his guts. He hasn't been a whiny sissy in interviews after the game. I think he will come around sooner rather than later.

I disagree totally. Most of his pick 6 have little to do with pressure. More about not checking off to other receivers and locking on. Also, almost every throw is a bullet. He needs to learn when to use more touch and float it a little.

I agree with you Cussian. Lee will come around, it's just frustrating as H--- waiting for that to happen... but it will happen, it has to, we don't seem to have much else of a choice at this time
(unless of course JJ lights it up on Saturday, but I'm not holding out much hope for that from a true fresh in his first real SEC playing time. I don't count MSU. At least we have 'em in the friendly confines of Tiger Stadium)

really?
but i agree, he has been playing really well considerably. his problem is not so much the interceptions, its just that they seem to have about a 70% chance of becoming TDs. and that is what people are concerned about. hopefully he learns before saturday

If the defense can't tackle why should you expect the offense to tackle any better? ;)
