Eventhough I agree there are cycles I think there is not enoughto say we are in a downward trend.
2008 was bad, but we won more game in 2009 and were not blown out at all. That to me says we are trending upward from 2008 mor than continuing on a downslide.
Also I think it would take a some total abysmal seasons to tear the fence down around LA that keeps our recruits home. If we can land the huge class next season we expect we could probably withstand a few weak classes relative to our standards and still be contending.
Eventhough there is a good bit of youth this year the team is built a lot better than the previous two years. We have legit coaches with experience, experienced playmakers in every unit, and more experienced depth than usual(OL).
I don't think tigers should be pessimistic unless we are not finishing in or right at the top 10 this year.

your perspective sucks...
as far as the cycle being dependent upon fans being willing to accept mediocrity, I would argue that panicking by fans and influential boosters is ultimately what leads to cycles of mediocrity. A fanbase becoming a bunch of spoiled brats helps the process along as well. Bama's problems are largely brought on by this. This is why Auburn and Bama never seem to be great at the same time, when one is doing well the other panics and starts doing stupid shite that is detrimental to the program.
Couldn't agree with you more.....but I don't think the rantards, especially the negative ones, are an accurate measure of LSU fans overall....
