Let's see, we were down 24-7 on the road to a Top 10 team at the half, a team that circled this game and fixated on it for the past 10 months. A team that is now Top 5, with a Heisman frontrunner playing out of his mind against us.
We rallied to tie them at 24, and then when they went up by 8 again, we drove down and had 2 chances from the 5 (AFTER a penalty, mind you) to score and potentially send the game to OT.
btw if we don't get that penalty, it's 3 plays from the 5, and I think we run it in. Then it's crazylegs Leavitt trying to get the 2 pt conversion.

This was with Leavitt (and Jones) running behind that O Line you mentioned.

We were ranked 11th and 14th preseason. We're now 10th/11th. We still play 5 ranked teams, 4 will be in Tiger Stadium.

I don't think things are quite as bad as you suggest.
