there a several links in this thread with much better throws, including a game winner by JR on 4th and 10 from 50 yards away thrown on the run. LINK
Matt Mauck vs. UGA was better
Peyton Manning had a better throw against the Saints in the Super Bowl between 4 defenders.
Drew Brees has a throw equally as good a few times a week.
It was a great throw but something QB's have done often

What? Throw a perfect 35 yard pass to win the game with ultimately no time left on the clock against perfect coverage? Don't think that happens very frequently.

so how is it better than a 50 yard bomb to the corner of the endzone while on the run on 4th down to seal the game.
The actual throw isn't even close to being one of the best ever. Even adding the circumstances, it still isn't there, especially since a field goal would have won it
Give me JR on the run, Mauck throwing while getting hit, etc. over that one

The best throw you've seen in Tiger Stadium
Jefferson to Randle 2010 Alabama
Lee also made a throw to Randle on a 3rd and long from deep in LSU territory to help seal that game.
And both JJ and JL had perfect TD passes to Randle against Auburn in '11.

You can use the same type of argument with JR's throw because all they needed was 10 yards to get the first. It was a great throw, but it wasn't a necessary throw because there was more than a minute left and they still had a timeout left.
The Flynn throw was necessary and was the last offensive play of the game. The FG never could have happen because the time would have likely run out, so that is moot.
I am not trying to take away from the other throws that LSU QBs have made, but you have to use the situation when it comes down to it because a lot of them are incredible.

M. Flynn to D. Byrd. The game was on the line and the throw was perfect. Forget the potential FG. That's not a given by any stretch. That throw won the game.

The ones in person are always more memorable, so I'll go with Flynn to Byrd vs Auburn 07. I was in the front row in the corner where he caught it & thought DByrd was gonna dive into the student section. I'll never forget that play as long as I live.

I still have dreams about that 01 Florida game.

You can argue this all day ... and have a point. This is what I thought of when I saw the thread. My personal favorite was Hodson to Fuller in 1988. I was in the student section and asked my wife to marry me at the game. It would have really sucked if we lost that game. Our kids are tired of hearing about the earthquake catch

Not sure on the year, but Davey hit Royal in the end zone against Tenn to win the game in OT 38-31. That pass split like 4 Tenn defenders from 25yds out, with Royal diving to the ground to make the catch. Davey had tremendous swag.

1988 Earthquake Game vs Auburn: Hodson to Fuller. Perfect pass under pressure.

Since the ASU game was supposed to be in TS in 2005 but because of Katrina we played there but was still the home team I will go with the throw to end the game.

And it came with one second left. I was there and the crowd screamed so loudly when he caught it, I thought we had a another Earthquake Game on our hands. Hodson to Fuller. Flynn to Byrd. By the way, this year is the 25th Anniversary of that game, and Auburn is a home game this year.

MF to Byrd. Hands down.

Anyway, it's kinda hard to decide. Bert Jones to Jimmy Ledeaux (the day that time stood still) or Hodson to Fuller (Earthquake Game) or Flynn to Byrd (one second left).

now that I think about it, in '04 against Oregon State Jamarcus threw a frozen rope to Joseph Addai in JR's first game as a freshman and he threw the ball so hard the ball knocked Addai out of the air when he jumped for the pass. I gotta put that on my list too.
the pass is at 8:28 LINK
