There is only one team in the history of the BCS that had an undefeated regular season, DESERVED a shot at a national championship, and did not get said shot. And even that team, had they scheduled one decent OOC game, would have gotten that shot.
Utah in 2004 and 2008 did not deserve a shot, nor did Boise State or Tulane or freaking Hawaii.

Yes, a regular season where some scrub can run through a weak conference and get a chance to play for a championship instead of a team that had to play 5 ranked teams and lost a couple would be so much better.

According to anyone with more than a cursory knowledge of college football.
In any of those situations, there was no coherent argument that those teams were one of the top two teams in the nation. None whatsoever. Therefore, the BCS did not unfairly exclude them from the national championship game. Rather, they JUSTLY excluded them.
