Cat, most here know that I am from here and still live here. Spent a good bit of time in NO LA as well.

Every SEC school had a stronger strength of schedule than Southern Cal last year.
That is truly PATHETIC!
2007 Strength of Schedule:
1. Mississippi
3. South Carolina
6. Florida
7. Georgia
8. Kentucky
9. Alabama
11. Auburn
13. LSU
14. Mississippi State
17. Tenneessee
19. Vanderbilt
33. Arkansas
83. USC (mighty trojans in the Pathetic 10)
Checkmate!

Are you talking ancient history?
No, I am talking the last 16 or so games. The SEC actually leads in ancient history.

I thought you procliamed the SEC or most of it was competitive, as in the top conference. Make up your mind.
Tell me how many times USC, CA, Oregon has lost to the SEC this decade?

Georgia wanted to play your Big Bad Trojans, but they went and hid behind the Rose Bowl Committe.
Yes, USC is scared to play top tier teams.

When USC isn't playing in their Cupcake PAC-10,
And those same cupcakes having a winning record as of late over the SEC. 11-7 10-6 or in there somewhere. If you believe those are cupcakes, then not sure what that says about the SEC to you.
Insert excuse here__________.

Checkmate would actually be head to head competition.

Hey USC...
Last year LSU and USC both had 2 losses right? Why was LSU in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME last year and USC was NOT...why? IT IS CALLED STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE...that is with those "weak" teams scheduled. Just shows how WEAK the PAC-10 is!!!

It's hard enough navigating through the SEC schedule. I am ok with an easy OOC schedule after playing Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Tennesee and one or two other surprise contendors every year.
If teams feels that SEC teams shy away from competition then they should be able to beat them in bowl and NC games but it usually doesn't happy, does it?

"The 10 BCS teams that load up on cupcakes"
USC should be #1 just for being in the PAC-10

yes i agree the SEC is a really good conference , but lets see, Tennessee lost to Ucla, Arkansas beat ULM by 1, and do you remember, ULM beating Bama, What a joke, Auburn lost to USF, Cal beat Tennessee, And i bet Arkansas never wants to play usc again, after they got blew out two times

It is also a fact that LSU has tried repeatedly to schedule games with big name schools and been turned down
Sure, as long as it was on LSU's terms. Every BCS team will turn you down when you won't return the game to their home stadium.

The 10 BCS teams that load up on cupcakes
Here is reality;
"We" play cup cakes for more than one reason.
1)It allows "fine tuning" before entering the SEC
2)It allows the "cupcake" schools to get better. The revenues generated for those schools allows them to improve their facilities and their recruiting. If the larger schools did not do that, the smaller schools would suffer.
3)Because of # 2, that is sometimes "payback", friend to friend.
The proof of a school's schedule is in its OVERALL strength of schedule.

until we go to a playoff system, playing cupcakes is a beautiful thing.

Don't know too much about the beautiful part, but certainly necessary...
if not, it would be suicidal.

The most truthful and accurate description I've read so far. Props rbdallas

They, the pac, can get up for it.............its probably as close to a bowl game as they are going to get.And the only thing they'll have to brag about for the whole season.

How many people think the SEC is so weak that USC would have won the last 6 SEC championships?
Zero, nobody, nada!
On the other hand, how many people think the Pac-10 is so weak that USC will win the next 4 Pac-10 championships to make a clean sweep of the Pac-10 for a decade?
Everybody!

Well, then I guess more than two thirds of the SEC is weak. If you say so.

As we all know, the entire Cupcake Pac-10 is weak in comparison to USC; however, the SEC has three programs that can match USC talent year in and year out: LSU, Florida, and Georgia, with Auburn, Tennessee, and Bama giving them a real test as a road trip.
Ok, now I get it; you consider Kentucky, Vanderbuilt, Miss. St. Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Auburn as the strength of the SEC.
