The thing is….ya, this season was a bust but….it could have been far worse!
Think about all the injuries. The players who quit. The portal jumpers. All the negativity. Coach O basically getting fired halfway through the season. The QB controversy. The wheels fell off of this team. We played half the season on gimping on the rims.
Yet somehow. Some way. Coach O kept this small bunch who were left together and he somehow kept them motivated and hungry. We were competitive and actually entertaining to watch. Any lesser man would have folded up shop. Coach O showed up every day and fought and he made these young players fight on. It was a grand testament of what kind of a proud man he is and that he only wanted the best for LSU. He never wanted to let any of us down. In all my years I never saw such an injury depleted team. Look at our starting oline last night! Look at or starting secondary for the whole second half of the season. Coach O did an extraordinary job keeping us running on fumes. Some of those loses we outplayed our opponents too!
I’m happy he can ride off in the sunset with a WIN

I agree completely. Those guys did not quit on him at all. And that says something about him. He's a decent guy who loves LSU. I wish him the best.

The injuries this year would have taken the wheels off of any team. It did seem like there was a lack of preparation but who knows that would have happened without the I injuries.
Before the season started LSU lost its starting QB to injury.
Starting LT to transfer
Starting RB to academics
Starting LB to injury.
After the season started they lost
Starting DE and best edge rusher
Best cornerback in the country
The best wide receiver in the country
The second best cornerback.
Offensive lineman going down all year long.
Would LSU have won 2019 without Burrow, Clyde, Chase, Shaq Charles, Kristian Fulton, Stingley, Chassion, and Queen? Doubt it.

Somehow, like last year, once all the quitters and portaleers were out of the way, the team actually played better football.
This year's Stingley bore no resemblance to the 2019 Stingley. I know he got hurt, but there was more to it than just an injury.
