You gotta think that the guy who gave Vince the Horns Down hand gesture, also called the horns a bunch of pussies for not going to an academically inferior SEC.

It gets easily forgotten, but this is sses from 2004-2005 to 2008-2009. Every Division I sports team calculates its APR each academic year, based on the eligibility, retention and graduation of each scholarship student-athlete. Teams that score below 925 (this is the Mendoza line ... if you can't hit this, you're just not trying) on their four-year rate and can lose up to 10 percent of their scholarships through immediate penalties.

Laughing at anyone who thinks Texas WANTS to play LSU, AU, UA, UGA, and UF, then play A&M then a Championship game against UF or UGA again.
Use that brain man.
Use that brain man.

They are just scared to play us
Texas' all time record against the Southeastern Conference is 34 wins, 16 losses and 2 ties, through the 2009 season. Their all-time record against current SEC members is 95-46-4.

APR really means nothing as far as the academic quality and reputation of the university goes.

I think alot of the media and teams such as Texas have high jacked the academics thing from the Big Ten. The academic fit that the Big Ten is looking for is a like minded institution (heavy in research and grad school) to share resources (online library journals and professors). The academic thing has nothing to do with being too good for a conference's average standards. Princeton and Dartmouth would not fit in the Big Ten academically because they focus on undergraduate education. The Big Ten is looking for a school to contribute to its library sharing system, not just a school with a high US News ranking.

No athlete at that level is scared to play anyone.
Uh, Geert, once you realize that the President of UT said that the academics of the SEC were inferior, you will understand this post.
You see, the athletes DON'T make decisions about what conference the school will join.....the president makes those decisions...and obviously, stupid comments about adjacent conferences' academics.
Especially when his own football team's APR would finish 6th in the SEC.
Not once in my post could you ever deduct that I said the athletes from Austin are scared to play the SEC. I simply mean that the brass of UT do not want 2 or 3 losses and therefore no BCS game, which is where they make their money.
