Anyone else completely mindfricked by the TenthTiger Thread?
I am legitimately fascinated that this particular thread took off like wildfire and is seemingly being taken as the gold standard of OC insider scoop right now.
I think its a perfect example of blind trust people put here on tRant. Its well written, has a different 'feel' than most posters on here, which makes it feel "legit".
Typically, a first post from a new account gets roasted, especially if it claims to have sources and inside information.
I am mind fricked how this board reacted to this particular thread. Could legitimately be researched as the best social experiment of 2018.
I am legitimately fascinated that this particular thread took off like wildfire and is seemingly being taken as the gold standard of OC insider scoop right now.

Is this experiment you speak of, as in if you see words from some anonymous source that does nothing but further the contention that no real coaching search was done, then it was highly successful.

But if its the truth, why would you be mindfricked?
You know it's pretty easy to verify. The coaching community at this level is a very small group. Word gets passed around as to who has been contacted by LSU, and when they get nothing back but crickets, its very telling

Also to clarify, I am not mindfricked by the content within the thread (it all seems to make perfect sense).
I am talking about a first time poster, on a brand new account, popping in and creating a thread with "inside info" that has 20+ Pages and almost 600 upvotes (and counting).

No telling whether poster is legit or not, but I am suspicious of all "insiders" that post on the board. Granted, LSU is a trainwreck of late, but you'd think anyone who gave a shite about their stake in the program would avoid sharing supposed insider information on a message board.

What is sad is that this board beleives we are an elite program but with the ousting of Miles and total melt of the O hire. This program is so toxic because of the fan base that it is believeable that we can’t get a decent OC to come into the program because the fans half the fans wanted the coach gone before he coached his first game.

Speaking only for myself...
I've been on LSU message boards since 1999 and during that time have had a handful of well placed REALLY well connected "sources" from time to time. No...I haven't had one for many years now, FWIW. But...reading that account and the way it was written reads almost EXACTLY like the type of accounts I'd get when I did.
Now...it could be completely fabricated and still be mostly correct by merely guessing. Unless the poster is going to drop anonymity and divulge who he is, there's really no way of knowing for sure.
Personally, it reads legit.
The mileage of others may vary.

They pursued only two prospects because of the toxic fan base. Sure.
If this post is legit it shows without a shadow of a doubt there was no real search or interest in reaching out for an OC. One is now a HC and the other perceived to be more toxic than the fans.
There would be one outcome from this limited search.

Right...except there are a few things that the poster says that derail a bunch of pet theories that have been bandied about by "these people." Namely that Orgeron was somehow involved in the direct ousting of Miles from inside the program. I'd have bet dollars to donuts that he had...but this guy says no.
If his goal was simply to shite on Orgeron that would have been an EASY tale to tell...

I had the exact same reaction. People on here are so blinded by their hatred of the current administration and HC that they turned completely gullible. And so this guy ends up pulling off an epic troll. I’m embarrassed for so many of my fellow tiger fans
