Sandstorm is absolutely 100% god awful, I hate that song with all my heart.

Eh, I hate techno with a passion and pom poms plus techno makes me ill, but to each his own. Some people obviously like it. Everyone has different tastes.

They could play some hard rock to get the juices flowing instead of YMCA, Jump On It, and Justin Beiber.

Since the powers-that-be at LSU are borrowing Ozzy, Saliva, Village People, Darude, pom poms,etc..from every other school..

I say we need go full copycat,

I want Mike the Tiger(the student mascot) to ride into Tigerstadium pregame, on an LSU Boomer Schooner, with the LSU cheerleaders running with Mike the actual real Tiger saddled ala Ralphie, then Mike the mascot dismounts at midfield, spearing the Eye, at which time, if not mauled by the aggravated real Tiger or trampled by LSU's band(ask Aub's Duval), he cues Dan Borne to direct our attention to the Eagle circling the field..

Meanwhile, the Golden Band from Tigerland is playing 'Hang On Sloopy' around the wrecked Schooner, as the real Mike is eating mascot Mike and the cheerleaders on the Eye, all the while, the band is desperately trying to dot the I in Tigers, around the carnage.

The fans are growing a bit restless, despite the great pregame action, and CBS tv timeout guy too(though not quite sure if this is over the delay or the live Tiger rampaging nearby), all slowed because the Football Tigers have yet to escape the locker room just yet, they are touching the Win crossbar, Play Like A Champion Today sign, and Howard's Rock..for touch of triple karma..it take's a lil' while.

But, they are highly motivated, as Jefferson is hot lately, looking forward to a victory, and leading the LSU Band's postgame rendition of 'Rocky Top' with a Trojan sword..

It was all worth the wait..what pageantry!

Nice job, LSU marketing and promotions. Way to be on the cutting edge. I am sure NOBODY ANYWHERE has ever thought about playing Sandstorm at a sporting event. I think that just might catch on.

And now, on a serious note, has anyone in that department ever had an ORIGINAL thought? Go to a basketball game, men's or women's. All of the crap that is done at timeouts, like promotions, games, etc., even down to the loser "hosts" that come on the court, are stolen from the Hornets. Someone tell these people it is ok to maybe come up with their own ideas and music.

Like it or hate it, what gets me is that they tried to play that song after 1000 other schools/pro teams/high school teams/rec league teams have already beaten it to death. That is what made it so out of place.

I like "techno", but songs like Sandstorm and Zombie Nation (which I prefer) are waaaaay overplayed at sporting events. I wish they would mix it up with some Welcome to the Jungle by GnR, Enter Sandman by Metallica and my personal favorite, Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine!

Now that would get me pumped up.

My father asked me "what the hell is this noise?" when Sandstorm was played. The old queen sitting on the other side of me was definitely enjoying it though.

Our fanbase is a bunch of little whiny bitches these days. Too much alcohol consumed...rantards crying. Too much profanity...rantards crying. Students ruining songs so more piped in music...rantards crying. Choice of piped in music being techno...rantards crying.

What happened to our fanbase? Seriously?

Personally, I don't mind the drinking or swearing, but Sandstorm is just so generic. It breaks the heart, especially after I spent a year of my life belittling Ole Miss and UGA fans for turning their stadiums into low rent hillbilly raves. Damn it.
