Then go get a green dot card from Wallgrees, upload it with $30 or so, and use it for the season.

what sattelite provider uses this card? I just talked to Dish Network and they said they don't use prepaid anymore. Can you explain how this green dot card works please? Thanks

There is a place next door to Benoit's Meat Market in Addis, that sells the Direct TV tailgate kit. I looked into it last year but never bought it. Not sure the name of it either. I will be passing by there at lunch and I will get the name of it. Check back after 1 and I should have a answer for you.

No idea, I haven't been over there this year to get the stuff as we've always used an OTA antenna.

I just talked to Dish Network and they said I can get the sattelite and everything for free with a 2 year contract at 24.99 for the first year and 39.99 for the second. I'm trying to figure out the best option here. The other option they gave me is to buy the equipment for $149 and pay 39.99 a month with no contract so I can cancel after the season and keep the equipment...any thoughts?

$24.99/month or 24.99 for the year?

sorry those prices are per month. I'm thinking it'll be better to go with the no contract option. Either that or the prepay thing if someone can explain how it works.

I'm pretty sure there's only one company now.

That place in addis is not there anymore. Direct TV also has sat to go for 999.00. It comes with the dish, receiver and 17" monitor and it all folds up like a laptop. go to directv.com to check it out.

The guy at the place in Addis has re-located to Baton Rouge. I bought a hi-def dish from him a couple months ago. His cell phone number is the same.

if you can get an extra dish then that is the way to go, otherwise you have to take it down from your house each time you want to bring it for a game. for games bring your receiver, cord and dish from home that you use everyday and just go through the set up process to get your satellite in the best position. (only problem is if you damage your equipment this affects your viewing at home) just pay your regular satellite monthly and you get it at your house and this will allow you to set up satellite at tailgates.

I called Glen Warner at Baton Rouge Satellite. I made an appointment at his business and he walked me through the set-up a to z. I was concerned that going HD would be more difficult. It's not. He was polite and knows his stuff. He's at 749-2211 and located just off of Siegen Lane.
