I have never hosted my own tailgate, but settling down as I get up in age and me and a few friends want to have our own tailgate where our kids can play a bit during the day and we can chill while we BBQ and watch the days games. I am not concerned with being a ways from the stadium, I expect that, but does anyone have any suggestions for an area we can set up without stepping on toes, and have room for the kids to play? I have the ability to hook up to cable (fringe benefit) so a utility pole or underground cable connection would be sweet also.

Any help would be appreciated.

Parade Ground is your best bet. There isn't anywhere on campus where you can utilize underground utilities. You must supply your own power and connection to your television.

Next to the Ag Barn is nice and family-friendly. Bring a quiet generator (the Honda eu1000 and eu2000's are very popular) or a boat battery and inverter. Get there early, like 7 or 8am, pick a spot and it's yours.

I don't want to argue or get in trouble for it, but really all I need to know is if they are there.

Thanks for the suggestion, I thought most of those spaces would be spoken for.

Nope. We use an OTA HD Antenna.

If you don't have too many accessories that require power, a marine battery will serve the purpose.

No noise our fumes to worry about.

That's what we use to power our 20" TV and boom box and it lasts all day.

thanks, Ill keep that in mind and get one just in case. I would love to be able to get gameday also though. I might have to borrow a sat receiver from my mother in law worst case scenario. That and an antenna would catch all I need. Bringing my DVR with me would be better though.

Any guesses on what time the Ag Center lot will fill on Saturday?

We've got an RV spot in TDII, but we're in the small lot across the bridge and just at the edge of campus by the Nicholson Extension. There's lots of grass and big trees next to us. I've often wondered why nobody sets up there. It's a hike to the stadium, for sure, but you oughta check it out.

I have tailgated in front of the Ag Center SHow Barn for 6-7 years. There is a huge grassy area between the barn and the lakes. You can get there as late as 12:00 and find parking.
