Tailgating in Omaha Roll Call - Let's Take Over!

Who's planning on setting up a tailgate in Omaha? Thought it would be cool if Tiger fans all lined up in the same spot/lot and created our own Tailgate village, which also allows anyone traveling without a tailgate a place to bring their own case of beer and come chill with other Tiger fans!
When we went in 2013, we found a great spot in back row of Lot G on the N 10th St side (marked on the maps below). It has open grass and sidewalk access, good foot traffic, and also access to restrooms at the bars and restaurant right across the street.
The lot opens at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, so we'll be there at 7:45 a.m. to make sure we're in first. It's $10 a car. An easy way to find it is to put in the address of the bar DJ's Dugout (1003 Capitol Ave, Omaha)
Who's in? If you don't have a place to tailgate, stop by

Figured I would let you know so you don't get planned too far ahead. Lot G is out of commission for the CWS, they are starting construction on some new buildings.

Thanks for the heads up!

Pretty sure they have all of those lots by DJ's closed for the construction.
Updated map here.
CWS Parking
Lot D is massive and the lots have grass on the outsides as well as a wide interior sidewalk/grassy area that most people generally congregate too.
"The Yard" is a parking lot that isn't city owned.

Thanks for the updates. They still have the old map up on CWSOmaha.com which is what I was looking at.
Is Lot D is not a Pass lot anymore?

Haha well that was quick. The developer of the project just said that they are going to delay construction for the CWS. Lot G will be open now.

It was initially announced that the lots would be unavailable due to construction expected to begin on a new hotel development at the corner of 10th and Capitol.
Shamrock Development has decided to delay the construction in order to provide fans more parking options and has asked MECA to operate the lots for the first week of the CWS®. "Time is of the essence for our development but we feel keeping the lots open for an extra week is in the best interest of Omaha and the College World Series experience, "said a spokesman for the project.
Parking Lots E, G, and H will be available for fan parking beginning Friday, June 12th at 4 p.m. and on game days through Sunday, June 21st. Construction on the Capitol District project will begin on Monday, June 22nd.
Parking Lots A and the CenturyLink Center Omaha parking garage will be open for the entire run of the CWS. Garage parking will be $15 per vehicle during the CWS®. Parking in Lots A, E, G, and H will be $10. Cash payment and the following credit cards are now accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

So how are the taxis? Hard to get? Expensive? Will be staying across the river, not planning on a rental car...

Tip, you don't have to get all the way to the stadium. Just get to the casino or a hotel with a shuttle and hop on (we used the free casino shuttle every game in 2009)

How strict are the drinking laws in regards to open containers?

Not at all as long as you aren't causing problems.
However, we did have a pair of plain clothed undercover cops (one guy and one girl) come to our tailgate in 2013 and start "small talking" with us, I was about to offer them some food and drink and then they asked for our IDs

We were all over 21 so it was fine.
However, I'd stick to cans or pour your glass in a cup just to be safe

If you are staying in Council Bluffs, let me know and I will try to find the links for their new bus routes into Omaha. I researched transportation for the Finals.
