if the spot you use is taken just get close to it and then use a cell phone and call a couple of guys in the group and ask them to call around and tell everyone to pass the word you are 50' from the normal spot. NO big deal. then drink ,eat and have fun and go yell loud for the TIGERS!

But what you don't get is that someone was there before you! He set up the day before you did.
And what you don't understand is that I was there first be having been tailgating in that spot for every game for the past 10 years!!

On a serious note, what is the TAF tailgate?
if you are a member of taf they have a deal inside the pmac.. not bad, beer is free but im pretty sure you have to buy the food.
Its good alternative for games when its hot,, have an ac in there you can watch games in progrsss and listen to gbftl.
I dont think its starts till later in the afternoon though.
Gotta bring your membership card to get inside.

Tailgating Etiquette
General Rules of Tailgating:
1) First come, first serve. Who gives a shite how long you have been there. I have tailgated in the same general area since the Dinardo days and if someone beats me to my spot, it is my fault for not getting their early enough.
2) In order to save a spot under rule #1, you must be there to claim it. Dropping off your shite and leaving it there should entitle you to NOTHING. Also, if you park your car in multiple spots in a parking lot and leave, you are an equal douche.
3) Roping off any area is selfish and stupid. Anyone who ropes off anything without being present should expect to have their ropes removed.
4) Anyone who plays music with profanity should be kicked off campus. If you want to be a gangsta stay at home and listen to your poor excuse for music. Soldier boy is not considered music.
5) Be polite to your fellow tailgaters and never be an jerk to our guests. Tiger baiting is certainly not considered being a jerk.
6) If you use a loud generator, it should not be pointed at someone elses area. Put a loud generator in the middle of your area so that other people don't have to be imposed upon for your stupidity. By doing that you will understand why you need to shell out the extra money to get the quite Honda generator.
I agree with this.

I'll even share my PBR with you.
Another serious question.
I am not someone who wants to get something for nothing or take advantage of anyone. Ever. I am more likely to decline hospitality and keep to myself if I am not invited in advance to any type of event. I'd likely walk around and watch and not engage.
With that said, I would like to participate more, not to get people's free food and drinks, but to hang out and talk, etc. In addition, I would like my sons to have that experience too.
How does one get "invited" without appearing to be a leech? Pull a cooler around with your own food and drink? Wear an MSU shirt and pretend to be a good natured MSU fan? Set up your own mini-tailgate?

There is probably some good info in all that UNPUNCTUATED SCREAMING.
And, as a quick note...
FU to all of the "it's my spot" crowd.
We tailgate often. It used to be every week, but because of excessive douchebaggery, we've cut it down to 2 or 3 times a year.
We get there at daybreak on Saturday... if our PREFERRED spot is taken, we..... drumroll..... go somewhere else.
If you get to campus before 10 AM (except for first game, Bama or Florida) you can set up in tons of places, without getting your thong in a knot, because you had to move your tailgate 100 feet down from "your" spot.
Oh, the horror of it all.
If it's that important to you, get an RV and a parking pass. You'll have all the space you'll need.
It's militant, self-important dickbags like you guys, and slobs that don't clean up their mess that are going to lead LSU to divide up EVERY possible spot on campus and charge EVERYONE to tailgate.

There was a major lockdown on tailgating last year at UGA because of this.

You're stupid or something aren't you?
Glad you were able to get that off your chest

Is there such a thing as Tailgate Police?

Says the guy parading around claiming ownership to public property.
FWIW, you'll need to take 190 into Baton Rouge on Friday.
I've claimed all of I-10 from Houston to Slidell for personal use this weekend.
If you try to use it, I'll have my people beat up your people.

Better be off of it by noon.
I've been using I-10 for 30+ years, and I can tell whoever I want to get the frick off of it whenever I please.

I'll be sitting on the patio of serranos by noon.

Hey BT, if I make it to your spot at 430 and you arent there, and I setup, what time do I need to be there Saturday for you to still let me have the spot?

Just don't park on Highland between Weinerschnitzel and the Gates.
We have all those parking spots for our tailgate.
We'll have bag chairs in all the spots, so you'll know it's us.

This is just retarded. How the hell is someone supposed to know what "your spot" is? Should a new tailgater go out and check where every single "claimed spot" is? Last I checked, LSU doesn't put out a map of where you aren't supposed to set up because location X marks where Dick Cheese(BT) likes to set up.
Is this who you are refering to???

is this a valid parallel?
People that think they are entitled to a spot because of their time there - are they similar to people that think their opinions on this board matter more because of their post-count?

IF NO ONE HAS SET UP THERE BY SATURDAY 8 AM--THEN STAKE A CLAIM.
