here is an unusually high number of felony's committed by athletes of certain sports (football and basketball). this is FACT. just compare with other athletes and society as a whole. i'm simply stating facts not launching any tirades about anything.

Link to these facts?

The arrest rate for NFL players is 2.9%. NBA is 1.92%. So less than 1 in 45 players gets arrested

The arrest rate for "society" is 10.8% for males the ages 22-34. The arrest rate for the entire US population is 4.25%

So I would love to see what facts you have to backup your claims

NFL arrest rate more about perception than statistics. -- Guess the perception isn't based off "FACT"

Disproves your felony argument too .47/1 for aggravated assault

Football and Baseball have a similar arrest rate too, with baseball actually being slightly higher some years

And it's safe to say it is his perception that is totally off.

MLB is actually neck and neck with the NFL too, so the whole sport thing is bullshite as well. The MLB's DUI raters are less too...

TX A&M - 15
Ole Miss - 14

So do we re-name the Fulmer Cup the "Pinkel Cup"?

Case in point, all the people who talked about Jefferson's suspension and the "Jefferson incident," but forget that Josh Johns was also investigated and suspended for the same event.

no one gave a frick about josh johns. he was a nobody. Jefferson was the QB. You dumbass.

Furthermore, if you take a given year -- say 2012 -- from the stats at arrestnation.com, then NCAA football outnumbers NFL for total incidents, 264 to 42. However, since the NCAA Div1 football population far exceeds NFL, NCAA football citations is a quite lower rate:
264 incidents / 20,145 scholarship football players in D1 = 1.3%

The perception (in media and forums) seems to be that LSU leads the SEC in such incidents

Possibly. But there's been a fair share of articles/talkshows where LSU leads as the example used.
