I hope what I said had nothing to do with that. Disagreements that remain civil are what this board should be all about. Don't "shut up" just because you think that you're in the minority.

Mason Katz now has 60 RBIs in 34 games

No, nothing you said. And really nothing at all, but I questioned the every half inning recap, and I should have just shut up and enjoyed the game.

That's not the Rant way.

How many games do we play??? I don't think he can set a record, but he could make a "soft bat record"???

There is more than a few. The immaturity on this board is a huge problem, IMO.

There should be an * for the players in the "hard bat" days, it isn't fair to compete against milestones you have no chance of reaching..

To give you an idea... Katz is on pace to get 99 RBIs in only the 56 game regular season.
Throw in the remaining minimum with the assumption that LSU goes to Omaha:
SEC tourney (2 games), Regional (3 games), Super Regional (2 games), Omaha (2 games)
---> let's call it 10 extra games.... at current pace, Mason would have 116 RBIs in 66 games

My point was that even if he kept up his insane hitting for the rest ot the year, he couldn't reach the levels that were reached in the "hard bat years". But he ain't doing too bad!!!!

It makes you wonder what he could have done with the old bats. The old bats weren't just about home runs, the balls came off the bat a lost faster and made them harder to handle. I hate that we have to compare these kids to those of the 90's and earlier.

When MLB went to 162 games, they added an "*" by the old records to show that they now had another 6 games to play...
They did alter the ball construction, but the bats were always wooden.. Anyway, I like this team, win lose or draw!!!
