YES!!! and then afterward, we should go and burn down the whole city of Baton Rouge!!! That way, we can look worse than Detroit or the shithole morgantown

yes entirely true. rushing the field is for when you do something completely out of the ordinary. winning is not new to us. hence the "act like you have been there before comments" not that hard to follow.

Who cares if we are not underdogs, its FUN and just shows your support for the team. All you "rush-the-field-bashers" need to get off your "we-are-the-champs" high horse and let people celebrate and have a little fun.

So why should we cheer at games? I mean, we are expected to beat App. State easily. Lets just go, watch the game, and leave. No reason to really cheer, since we know whats going to happen.

IDIOT.

You cheer because you're happy LSU did something great. Rushing the field is when you win after being a huge underdog. LSU will never be a huge underdog again.

I think there's a beach ball begging you to toss it around during the game while you wait for the wave to come around, somewhere.

Tear the goal posts down while you're at it.

to make it hard for the other team to hear for one thing. plus that is during the game.

are you one of those fans that yell while we are on offense?

that would explain a lot.

Im glad you all are language experts. Someone should call Webster and tell him to add:

rushing the field - something you only do as a huge underdog

Im sure half the country would disagree with that.

Agreed. That's why I think it would be ok to storm if we ever beat Arkansas to end the season and we're ranked in the top 2. That has actually NEVER happened.

I think the only way we could justify rushing the field at this point in LSU football history is if we do something so amazingly historic, that it won't be conceivably matched for many years to come.

That being said... about the only reason I would see to rush the field this year is if we repeated and no one scored a single point on us... I would be ok with rushing the field after time expired in the NC game in that scenario... but, will never happen, so don't be an amateur fan rush the field with the expectations that we have.

I guess winning a lot takes some of the euphoria out of winning against ranked teams. Kind of like the Russian Hockey team in the 70's.. they won every game for years. Can you really jump for joy every time you beat somebody you're supposed to?

When USA beat them in 1980, they just watched how elated the USA team was and knew they had lost that aspect of winning.

As LSU's number 1 fan, I can say that I'm more happy to say "YES, I knew we would score" compared to "WOW, I can't believe we scored".

Like a surprise party compared to a planned one, I guess.

Other fans will start to really hate us, instead of wanting to be like us if we get too cocky and smug though.

I don't want to be hated, just feared.

I agree 100%, absolutely not, there is no reason for LSU to ever storm the field in any football game. A team like LSU is suppose to win.

Just my two cents.

At places like USC and LSU where everyone expects you to win, you just look like an idiot if you try to rush the field. It's not the 90's anymore for either team

LSU and USC basketball are a different story all together.
