Let's say that he did most his damage against weak competition....
Wouldn't you think that even though he was "terrible" during sec play, he would be hitting less than .333 going into the regional??

Ok, he hit for a high avg vs the weak non conference schedule and has been awful vs any decent pitching. When you hit super high vs crap you can still suck arse vs good pitching and have a high avg.

I understand that people see he's picked 23rd overall, and they expect him to never get out. It's baseball, it's the only sport you can basically fail at and still succeed. Jared Mitchell probably hasn't hit into a double play all season long, he walks a good bit, even when he doesn't steal the pitchers are always aware where he is.
He's been one of our best players and you can't sit the guy in the CWS just cuz he's had a bad 3 games.

And I get what you're saying, but last I saw he wasn't hitting in the .450's during non conference. He was hitting around .360 going into conference I believe. He ended the year around .330. That's not much of a dropoff when you play about 30 games against your conference.
