Stats lie, rings lie.
JJ is a wildcat qb only. Nothing more. Should see 6-8 snaps a game. Marcus Randle would be an upgrade.

I feel like for everything good Lee showed vs. Florida, he showed that much bad vs. Auburn.
Neither guy can be the guy.
I think we misuse JJ.
I think we misuse Lee to an extent.

JJ is misused, no doubt. But he isn't a feature QB.

Jj is not a dual threat qb. He lacks passing skills. Actually, he poses no threat to any team.

I don't care who starts. Its ceremonial. Unless LSU is playing someone like ULM, it will need a passing game and Lee needs the majority of touches.

I remain undecided on this.
From what we've seen this year, you are right.
But it's difficult to judge against either him or Lee for neither being properly taught or prepared their entire collegiate careers.
Even watching Zach Mettenberger's Spring Game tape, you can see him do things that neither Lee nor JJ do.

He is a pretty good wildcat QB. Staff tried to make him a pocket QB last year and it failed badly. He can complete passes but cannot move the team on his arm. He just looks lost out there.
JJ can be effective but not as a feature QB

The Florida game, JJ could have made the same throw

About the same time DeadFish got banned for personal insults because he couldn't defend Jefferson's piss-poor play. Welcome back DeadFish.

Yeah, probably not in this system.
Rewatching the Auburn game, and from other games in the past, he seems to play much, much better when he doesn't have to think... and he can just play.
He blows at reading progressions or coverages. He holds the ball too long in the pocket and then throws high or low.
But I think an offense that had a simpler route tree and capitalized on his mobility might allow him to be a very capable full-time guy. But we'll probably never see that here.

Funny how bias can turn bad play into mediocre play. I think there is definitely a place for JJ playing QB but Lee needs most of the snaps. I actually think it will take the pressure off of JJ and help him.

the new OC shall unlock JJ's potential.

He throws decently rolling out where he has a dedicated receiver, doesn't have to read the defense or avoid the rush.

Exactly what coaches want in a QB!

BLAH BLAH BLAH...
When you think about it, it doesn't matter which QB is in there, the offense is just inept, has no personality and gets no respect from our opponents (rightfully so).

JJ's starting record this season up to the Auburn game. 7-0. What now? What else is he doing wrong? Geniuses....
Are you kidding? This is your defense! Did your mon drop you on your head as a child? Just because the record was 7-0 does not mean that JJ had anything to contribute since UNC. Since Tennessee JL has been bailing the team out of jams. Moron

LSU has enough talent to beat sub par competition without a decent QB. Down the stretch is where it will all fall apart.

We will NEED to have an effective passing game vs. Bama. JJ can't fulfill that role.

Unquestionable. I am sure JJ will start and play the first two series. Only two things will come from this, and I'm going with RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN, and Bama will stop us because they know that all too well. The second thing is that JJ puts the ball up in the air and overthrows a receiver or throws in the worst possible spot possible which results in an INT. I don't think the coaches will allow that to happen though. I think it will be a ground game, and Bama knows this all too well, so look for little to nothing early on.

Against all remaining teams, except ULM. I fear the late season breakdown in conditioning too, and think the rushing game will erode. Passing game will need to step it up.
