JJ didnt get us 112th place in Offense. if anything, him and the receivers were just about the only bright spot on our offense. What got us 112th was no OLine or running game.
+1.
If we've got a running game, you'll see a big difference in the passing game.

This gets me so excited you have no idea. I cannot WAIT. This team is fired up, ready to go. Exactly what we need.

we couldnt run anything diverse b/c JJ didnt know the offense and our play calling was choked off b/c of him...you can blame the O-line all you want to, but the fact is they knew what was coming b/c JJ limited, and his numbers were flawed.
I find it a little hard to blame a line that returned 3 starters and 1 All-American, to a first full year starting QB.
I'm not saying the line didnt have their problems, im saying JJ was the root. the offense will only go as far as HE takes them...He has to grow up! If he doesnt improve this year its ALL on him....he's started for almost a year and half...quit babying him saying its someone elses fault..

you find it hard to blame the oline that lost 40% of what it had the year before? The same oline that has had so much attrition under Miles?

Hopefully "NUMBER 1 DEFENSE" means something this year. I'm banking on the D to be much better.
the player I talked to on D really believes that the Dline will be a LOT better. Jai is looking great too.

But he was only 19 (was I really the first to trot out that excuse from the pulldown menu?).
Better QB play would have gotten some of the 8-9 guys off the LOS on every play, and maybe, just maybe, improved our running game. And there were many cases of receivers running free and JJ not seeing them, steadily dropping deeper in the pocket, etc. So, no, I don't think he was even OK, not if you have high expectations for the program, like competing for the West and SEC championship.

We got OK QB play last year.
He's been in the sytem long enough that he needs to be better than just ok. He really needs to step it up this year and show that he can be an SEC-caliber QB. The excuses that he's too young, still learning the plays, etc. don't wash anymore.

Will be playing Nickel once Loston is ready to roll.

back off of JJ, he did fine last year without a line and running game. he's gonna be a lot better this year. Now stop all this negativity and bitching. We are gonna kick some arse

I agree and I think he will make a big jump. But he played better than I thought he would as a true sophmore. Look at other QBs in there true sophmore year ... JR, Stafford, VY, Pryor, Ryan etc. None of them were all-stars and all of them got better as juniors.

Some of it is constructive critism. Some not. The biggest thing for JJ is to be able to run a proper screen to keep the dline from pinning their ears back, a solid runnin game, and to hit a tight end now and then. If we can accomplish at least two of the three we will have a punchers chance. No reason we cant do it all. he is not young qb anymore. He has almost a year and a half under his belt and should know this offense in and out after the spring. Gonzo will also be a big help to JJ, I am optimistic.

He didnt single handedly lose any games last year, but he didnt win any either. A good SEC qb should be able to win a few now and then. I look for him to do that this year. If not. Lets get Garrett ready, I have heard nothing but good things about him since the day he walked on campus.

Oh, so bitching/blaming the running game and the oline is now not considered bitching because it is not aimed at the root of the problem (JJ). Give me a break!

not sure about Ryan, but JR and VY both redshirted, so they were never true SOs

It is like porn...you may not be able to define it completely, but you know what it is when you see it.
