Another great thing that playing such a high profile team does is motivate the players in the off season.

I guarantee that the players are working out much harder, than they would be if ASU opened up against a weak opponent.

Here's what App. State has to look forward to, compliments of some pansy named Jesse from another blog. (Cue violin music)

quote:

LSU demonstrates that they have little respect for opposing players and subsequently very little respect for the game.

The blindside hit that Brandon Lafell leveled on MSU's safety, essentially after the play was over, just before the whistle. Was pointless and another shining example of how this team looks to try and hurt people whenever possible. The hit which had no bearing on the play or the game, broke the other players jaw and put him out of at least two games. He suffered a concussion as well as a neck strain. It was unnecessary and occurred during that grey period between the time that a play is obviously ending and just before the whistle. A player with any sense of decency would pull up and try to avoid pointlessly injuring another player. Not Brandon Lafell of the LSU Tigers. He took full advantage of the opportunity to blindside him and knock him out of the game.

Its a reflection of how they are being coached. The hit by Lafell is eerily similiar to the sack by Marlon Favorite. Both had little impact on the game, were unnecessary and seem solely for the purpose of sending a message to opposing teams.

I suppose LSU thinks they can win by intimidation. This is possibly an attitude bread by their tremendous depth of players. Perhaps they feel like noone can slug it out with them and last til the 4th quarter.

That is a logical theory until someone is seriously hurt and your program is tarnished. Marlon Favorite could have easily broken Chris Smelley's neck. He spun him around 360 degrees in mid-air by his facemask/neck. I like big hits and love football, but what LSU is doing is just classless. It can only be something that is coming from the coaching staff and it needs to stop.

"I suppose LSU thinks they can win by intimidation...Perhaps they feel like noone can slug it out with them and last til the 4th quarter."

That's exactly how we feel, because we can and they can't.

Actually, there's some more of this stuff on the link below. It's a hoot.

I'm going to be a realistic fan. I love ASU, always have and I always will.

I think that we halfway escaped with a Win from Michigan. Some of that had to do with a dropped TD and the, IMO, bad call at the end with the FG kick instead of going for it. Nonetheless though, we escaped. We did beat them statistically and all that, and I still believe that we did play better than them for most of the time. But had Corey Lynch not been at the point at that moment, we would have lost.

Back to the LSU game...
I think it's cool that we are playing LSU and that it will be the "Battle of the Champions" and what have you. I am thinking we'll give LSU some competition and possibly keep it close. I hope we win, but if we don't, I won't be too dissappointed because I know our guys will play their asses off. If we lose, we lose. If we win, then it's partytime in Boone!

I gained alot of respect for Appy St. when they went up to Ann Arbor and knocked off Michigan. It was probably the most fun I had watching a football game that wasn't a LSU game.

I know that everybody on Appy St. team is probably working extremly hard looking forward to the game against LSU in Tiger stadium. I watched the under the lights special on Sports South and saw how hard they prepared for that Michigan game. You all have a very good football team that could play on a Division one level and do it very well for a smaller school, because you seem to have very good coaches.

With that said Lsu isn't going to be looking by Appy St. what so ever because our head coach Les Miles is former Wolverien and he was no doubt watched what Appy did to his alma mater. He is going to have LSU focused on the task at hand.

Appy St. is cabable of beating Lsu but I don't think it will happen. I do think that Appy will probably give us a much better game than North Texas or Troy St.

Good Luck and I hope for a good game

Enjoy ya'lls trip down to Tiger Stadium!

I appreciate your words and your praise for our team. Can I ask you a favor though? Could you please not call us Appy St? Most of us don't like that name. Not really sure why, just not our favorite.

Again, I thank you for what you said.

Here's to an awesome game!!
