Why couldn’t we succeed as an independent (in football only) but ND can? Do we make more money in the SEC than we would on our own? If that’s the answer then I get it & this is the last time i’ll ask.

If being an above average team in the SEC is more profitable than being an independent powerhouse then of course the people in charge are going to take the money. As they should, I guess. I would think you could make more money on your own but I’m gonna pretend like I actually know the numbers.

I've often wondered the same thing. I wonder if a CBA has been done on this. It would be nice if LSU controlled their own destiny.

Independent would be badass, leave basketball and baseball in the SEC.

It works for Notre Dame because they have big followings in major cities that helps tv dollars and a national bandwagon fan base.

We would be totally fine as an independent. Notre Dame made as much money as we did last year. Alleva would never even think of it though, dude’s a massive pussy

We made as much money as ND because of SEC TV contracts
