depends how much time and money you have.
If you have plenty of time to make a road trip, I would drive and stop in St Louis to catch the Cards. A great stadium and nice town. Then I would drive to KC assuming the Royals are in town. Live downtown and the park is great. Saw LeMeheiu and Coleman face each other in 2010 in that stadium.
Then drive to Omaha which is about 4-5 hrs away.
Once in Omaha, there will be plenty of Tiger fans there. the parking sucks. No way around any of it. The bar frequented by LSU patrons, I can't remember the name now ask other fans there.
The really cool thing about the series is you can get drunk on watching games. It is awesome to just be in the stadium and watch any and all games.
It's been a while since I've last been there. I hated the last time 2013, with the dead bats and freaking old balls.

In 2000 my wife and I drove up after we made it to the championship game. No room, no tickets... picked up some general admission tickets (for free) and got in line to get in at 5:30AM. Sat nearly right behind Ray Wright catching that ball at the fence.

Told my 2 sons (12 and 8) that if LSU beat Cal State we would leave the next day and watch the Tigers play. They won and we left Wednesday morning with no room or tickets. Got a room about 2 miles from the stadium and ticket to the TCU game on that same day. Room was $100 and tickets were $35 a piece. Went to the Zoo the next day and Barrett's Barleycorn pub and grill ( local LSU hangout). We went to the Florida and Virginia game the day after the LSU game and sat in the general admission bleachers in the front row for $10 a piece. We had a great time. Probably one of the best trips I have ever had. So to answer your question, it's easy to score a room and tickets. Go and have a good time!
