LSU is a university. Research professors are "doing". Teaching is a secondary responsibility for them.

You're misapplying a slogan better suited to high school teachers.

Anybody but a brain-impaired liberal like you would know what it means.

And I said I wasn't going to repond to YOU anymore - can't you even read?

NOW I'm done with you.

You are correct. Unfortunately, that was a majority of young people in the last election.

wtf is a "general studies" major?
GS is worthless on its own. It's an easy curriculum if you want to go on to Grad School and keep your GPA up. It's OK if you already have a guaranteed job lined up with mommy/daddy/relative's company after graduation. OK for LSU athletes that can't pass anything else and who also have guaranteed jobs after they graduate from some rich booster that probably provided their summer job.......

Not necessarily... but in the case of voting for Obama, yes.

I'm guess by "stupid" you don't mean unable to do well on standardized tests.

The fact that he has a hard left, socialist agenda for the country, of course.

He wants to redistribute wealth, nationalize and destroy healthcare, cap and tax private industry out of the country, eliminate transparency in the government, take ownership of banking and car corporations, appoint hardliner communist, like Van Jones, to powerful government "czar" positions, etc etc etc, shall I go on??

Now, if you are not an idiot, then you are a Communist. Otherwise, you are just ill-informed.

That's all I will say... this really should be on the political talk board...

No need. I can watch Glenn Beck any time I want.

I am ill-informed. I rarely watch Glenn Beck or listen to Limbaugh. Those guys have the truth.

TUba must be the guy Glenn Beck used as the basis for his new book, "Arguing With Idiots".

Yeah - because the average job in Louisiana takes 8-10 years of school + a 3 year postdoc to get.

Talk about apples and oranges. Do you think EVERYONE making above average salary is making too much?

SpidermanTUba, I'm probably the polar opposite of you politically (I know we can't talk about it) but you're wasting your time on this one.

If someone wanted to make a lot of money, it wouldn't be in academics. Look at Bill Gates-he dropped out of college to pursue his goals, and he was very successful, That doesn't mean that academic people aren't important. They play an play an important role in preserving our existing knowledge and passing it on to subsequent generations, as well as doing research to advance science and other disciplines.

George Bush started the government bail out of banks, and he appointed a war "czar". So Bush must be a communist like Obama.

He is correct. In the grand scheme of things if the money, talent and energy spent on LSU football and its surrounding events were spent on social ills, I dramatic positive impact would be felt.

I disagree- man has been thinking, spending money and energy for decades and we continue to make a bigger mess of things! Knowledge in itself is not the answer- Wisdom- that is the application of knowledge- now there we might have something
