Ree, I know you know that feat couldn’t be replicated today. It was commonplace to ride one pitcher just a few years ago, but not anymore.

Like Ali Kilponen throwing 13.2 innings against Mizzou this year? Where she got better as the day progressed? Explain that to me. The other team got to see A LOT of pitches from her that day and didn't do anything in her second game. 3 hits and 0 runs her second game after seeing 131 pitches from her in the first game. What happened?

You lost me here. 13.2 innings < every pitch for and entire season.

The scouting and preparation for pitchers is far beyond what it was in 1988.

The schedule on the LSU website says it is on the SEC network.

I would agree that seeing all the pitches in one day wouldn’t be nearly as adventitious as seeing her a few days/weeks later. If you look at the third time Missouri went against Kilponen, they did much better against her. I guarantee Missouri did nothing but prepare for Kilponen for the SEC tournament. The umpire had a ridiculously small strike zone in that game for Kilponen which didn’t help, but Missouri did hit her better in that game. I was pretty shocked that Torina wouldn’t go with Kilponen against South Caroline and Sunseri starting against Missouri for the tournament.
