Kleist is really good, wouldn’t be surprised if LSU wins tmrw.
Great softball game, glad they figured out how to play! It’s nothing but good for both programs!

Seems like every year our 1st year players hit the ball really well then a year under Dobson and they can’t hit??

I’m more concerned with Andrews and Sunseri, both look lost at the plate. Sunseri does not look like she is having fun at all with her body language and facial expressions

Overall Ive been disappointed with all the returning starters. I really didn't worry about any of them coming into this season. I figured they would at least help ease some of the newcomers but that has been the opposite so far.
Doyle, Sunseri, Andrews and Stewart combined are hitting at an atrocious rate. 3 of those players hit well over .300 last year. I know one rough game against Kleist (very good pitcher) isn't exactly a tale tell sign but their overall body of work so far has been disappointing and just the type of at bats they are having.
May need to tweak the lineup again. I would give Ciara briggs a shot in the two hole, she is at least hitting the ball hard and having quality at bats. Stewart doesn't seem comfortable at all right now so move her down the lineup.
Sunseri needs to be a leader and step up. She was a giant reason we had the season we had last year. Players feed off of her energy and play.

And nothing against Dobson because when he was at Southern Miss they hit really well!!

Unless you just want to use this very small sample size of a season as that standard, I'm not sure which player you could apply this to. Somebody will say Doyle because she went down last year but she hit 238 as a freshman. This also doesn't line up with the usual complaint around this time that Beth doesn't play freshman over vets.

I would have to look at the numbers but no one stands out to me really outside of Taryn Antoine and Amber Serrett in recent memory in terms of freshmen that regress sophomore season at the plate.
Sunseri improved dramatically from year one to year two. So far its been a very slow start in general with the returning kids from last year but year two she was much better.
Torina will play freshmen if they can play, although I think she has evolved a bit since losing Hoover/Walljasper to get more potent offensively. Which I fully am on board with.

I think Summer Ellyson is even a better pitcher than Kleist. Should be a great game. But LSU winning on their home turf would not surprise me.

Tigerbait - I watched the game this afternoon from Lafayette: it was the worst officiating behind the plate. Very tough for hitters to hit outside the plate called strikes.

Sunseri seems to be on an island. Last year she didn’t really have high expectations and was sheltered in the line up by Sanchez from Missouri. Add to that scenario that Shemiah had an out of her mind great year and Sunseri was well protected. This year, she is in the mega spotlight and it is a much different approach.
Andrews is fine. I remember when retards on this board screamed she was not a D1 player. I have full confidence both will do what they do.
As always, the pitching is superb and gives us a chance every game.

Sadly, this is almost the norm in college softball. I watch a lot of games and nobody gets screwed more than left handed hitters with balls 8” off the plate. It is the worst officiated sport in the NCAA in my opinion.

You must not watch men’s basketball! The Arkansas vs South Carolina game where 73 free throws were attempted was the worse officiated game I’ve ever seen in my life!
