I’m worried they’re not getting to play enough innings

Wickersham and Kilponen most certainly did not look like freshmen at all

Its only going to get better too.

Sunseri will be a real weapon as well. These kids will only get better with more reps and experience.

I am just amazed at the difference at the plate. The at bats show patience, we aren't swinging at junk trying to force it to happen. Their swings are better and are getting much more pop off the bats.

I am really anxious to see how this all looks in Florida in 5 days

Since I had to stay in Houston this weekend, I'm kinda scared to go since I'm so superstitious and we are kicking arse and taking names with me watching from home. I'm scared I might mess up the mojo!!

Does this mean that we are off the fire Harold train at least for now?

Agree next weekend will be a much better gauge of where this team truly is. Love the start so far.

Beth does just fine.

It's her team and she wants to win as much as anyone. But she has a head-scratcher quite often. When your up by 4 or 5 on Bucknell it isn't that big of a deal. When you are playing Florida, Bama, FSU then they mean a lot more.

It's not easy to make those split second decisions as 3B coach.

I watch a lot of softball and baseball. It seems like it is more of an LSU thing. And the baseball team has gotten a lot better at knowing when to go and when to stay. Softball not so much.

I don't always agree with every decision, but if I was the coach, folks wouldn't agree with all of my decisions either. I trust the decisions that she and the staff make because they are with the players EVERY DAY, and they spend more time than any of y'all can ever imagine scouting opponents and looking at strengths and weaknesses that we can use as an advantage.

There are times that I've held runners because I've watched the OF arms in pregame and then see the wildest throws during the game... I've sent runners when I saw weak arms in pregame and then get thrown out.

Sometimes it's a crapshoot... I trust Beth coaching 3B just fine.

I sent a runner to second one time when I was pretty damn sure she was going to be thrown out. The team we were playing had a decent catcher but she was slow getting the ball out and then it seemed like her throws traveled in slow motion.

Everyone that got on first was sent to second. It was a free base. Paige was our slowest player by a big margin. But, I wasn't going to send everyone but her.

With the 3rd or 4th pitch coming up when I thought the other team was convinced we weren't going to send her I did. She took off as fast as I had ever seen, motored towards the base, kind of scared the shortstop covering and did one of the most perfect head-first slides I had ever seen. We didn't even teach head-first slides.

The catcher had her best throw down and it was her quickest getting rid of the ball and Paige was out. Our dugout went crazy, the parents in the stands went crazy over Paige's effort, hustle and perfect slide. Paige had the biggest smile and high-fived me as she jogged back to the dugout.

I knew there was a high probability of her being thrown out and sent her anyway. I would do it again in a heartbeat too. But, we were a 13 and under team that only had one player that had been on a team before.

I agree and see your points but you know I'm going to defend our staff... that's just what I believe in and I do respect many things you say.

And I am not trying to knock Beth. But, if I was asked that if she did have a weakness what I thought it would be I wouldn't even have to think about it. And a lot of it is 2nd guessing after it happened but it does seem to happen more often for LSU than any other team.

I've watched every LSU game in this Classic and if another team has had a player thrown out at home because the coach sent them, I don't remember it.
