What should we do on Friday night? We will get to hotel (near campus) approx 7:30pm. Current plan is to get some food (is tj ribs good?) and sleep off the flight so we can start early on the Saturday.

Any idea what time saturday is best to get on to campus? 8am? Earlier? Later?

I really wanna find someone cooking a gator. I'm not a huge photo person, but that will be a great one to show people in England haha

TJ Ribs is excellent!

For night games those who aren't in RVs are there by 9:00ish along Nicholson. Get there as early as you can stand it :)

Thanks! 8am it is then! I am going to start a thread as we head out on Friday to collect the latest info from people. A number have offered to show us their tailgates!

Is section 412 any good?

You'll be fine. It's the lower bowl.

Buy a cheap ice chest on wheels at a Walmart on your way to Baton Rouge. Fill it full of beer to tote around campus. You may get lucky and find someone to let you keep it at their RV for the game.

ETA: Lots of Gators will be cooked. Walk around and say hey to just about anyone and expect a great time.

new Orleans was the first melting pot in America (before nyc 1800) and has all European roots.

people from n.o. are called YATS, (like "where y'at?")
n.o. accent is close to Brooklyn broug.

the n.j. accent just sounds like you are from the irish chanel (south of French quarter.)

yall could tell the tailgaters that you are from n.o. or N.J.
tailgaters love Yankees and all foreigners!

My fiancee and I are driving in from Nashville spending the weekend with family and going to game. Been to TS before, but this will be our first SEC game.

Chimes is usually a good spot for Friday, but can get packed the night before a game. I've always been partial to Superior Grill on Government St. although it is a bit further from campus.

I like to hit The Chimes for Brunch then walk next door to the Varsity for some early game action and a few drinks. Take a couple of roadies from the Varsity and then walk around campus/stadium meeting new friends. You'll definitely want to watch the band march in and the players get off the bus and make their way down the hill - its awesome.

Hey Sid

Id like to watch the video but when I click the link it says 'umg has blocked content in your region' it's something to do with copyright. I blame being in Britain. Is there another version I can watch?
