No, we fixed the offense by going with what was working and sent a message to our receivers that if you can't catch a ball that hits you in the hands, you won't get any targets.

well we've had the same problems 2 games in a row so i guess that plan isn't working

So, in your previous post, you said you don't think they can adapt if the running game doesn't work.

Yeah, I also said that I don't think they will be called upon to adapt.

so are you saying that we will never have to establish a passing game to win a game this season?

Based on our body of work this year, I've seen nothing to indicate that we will be underdogs to anyone on our schedule except Alabama, and that is simply because we will be on the road.

That being said, we're better than we were last year, and Alabama is equal to what they were last year, at best, and arguably they are actually worse this year. We were a personal foul penalty away from winning that game last year, so forgive me if I'm not ready to concede defeat at this point in the season.

See, it's when you go this far that you lose me. Not giving them credit for beating MSU, who is not a bad or vastly inferior opponent, reveals (at least to me) that you truly are simply biased against LSU and Miles, and cannot provide any unbiased opinions.
Well, yeah, Miles can only be successful if he wins a national title and I've even seen his poo poo on that. Florida, on the other hand, is supposed to be really scary for LSU because they got big momentum squeaking out a win over Tennessee at home. Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M later in the year? Forget about it. All world-beaters (unless LSU beats them ... then they'll be "mediocre teams"). LSU will be lucky to finish 7-5 this season.

At least SFP is one of the most intelligent people on the Poli Board. He's got that going for him. All of this is kinda just laughable.

SFP, I think you make excellent points. I think the STAFF understands and tried against EMU, but it just is not there and the team was in a sleep-walking mode.

BTW, I think the D is middling at best. Count on high scores from 'Bama, Ole Miss, TAMU and maybe UF. The team seems to lack focus e.g. penalties.

i don't know about UF or Ole Miss but i think TAMU and Bama will put up points on this D

my #1 concern is the defense. the passing game issues hurt our D (especially with its depth issues)

Will we have to make a clutch throw at some point to secure a win? Probably.
Will we have to depend on our passing to win a game because Fournette is getting contained? Probably not.

You might be right, but if SFP is to be believed, then we haven't faced any good teams yet either. Outside of a few exceptions, Miles has proven to get LSU ready to play the big boys on our schedule every year. We play up/down to our competition, so I fully expect this team to be ready for UF and Alabama in the next few weeks.

no. UF looks like a potentially quality opponent when that wasn't expected to start the year. they may be a paper tiger in the end (like Auburn), but they're on the radar now. that's the deal with UF

Yeah that's how successful coaches coach. You don't go away from a strength that has been working.

You are slow. try to keep up. the comment was about games going forward, not in the past.

Holy shite, our fans are dumb. The most successful 10 year stretch in lsu history has sapped your fandom?

Since Miles was hired no program has spent more weeks in the top 25 than lsu.
No program has beaten more ranked teams than lsu.
We have finished in the top 15 8 of his 10 seasons. Top 10 6 of his 10 seasons and this has sapped your fandom?
I hate our ignorant and entitled fan base.

Once again you demonstrate complete lack of reading comprehension.

Not one single person is arguing that we should deviate from what is working.

We are saying that, to this point is the season, it appears that we have no Plan B on the off chance the running game gets held in check.

If that doesn't concern you as a fan, OK. But to get pissed off at those voicing legitimate concern says a lot about you.

it's been a very frustrating run since jimbo's QBs left (yes, miles was here for 3 years of that talent run)

same issues repeat almost every year and every year since jimbo's QBs left, it's bitten us in the arse

2011 was back breaking b/c it was all the issues with miles when everything went our way and then 1-9-12 happened. absolute domination due to the inability to adjust a gameplan or develop a passing game. plus miles fricking quit in that game, which made it worse

Except no the frick it isnt. From 2009- 2013 only 4 programs in all of football won at least 9 games every year and lsu was one of them. Basing a successful season of a game/playoff you get VOTED into is the dumbest thing I've ever seen you post. The coaches and players have no control over getting to the playoff/game.
