I do think Stud might need to go. The o-line has been worse this year than ever. And Stud seems to have chosen the wrong players to start. Both LG and RG could have different starters right now that would be bigger and stronger than Hitt and Dworaczyk

Why wouldn't an ex player care about the program?

That seems strange to me...Once a tiger, always a Tiger

thats what these people dont understand.... anything involving players theyve recruited and developed falls back on them. Attrition, being kicked off the team, grades, development... are all examples of things that coaches are responsible for. Our recruiting classes have been great by "recruiting service" standards.. but if you dont develop them and use them properly, its the coaches fault IMO.

He just seemed to be focused on his career and his family.... maybe I worded it wrong? he just didnt seem too interested in football or attending games.

First off, I said they were not as talented compared to players from previous years. Anyone who plays for LSU has some talent. In no way was I insinuating that these guys weren't talented.

Secondly, sometimes players don't progress and improve like they are projected to. For example, no one thought Charles Alexander was going to injure both of his legs. He has played well considering this, but he never reached the potential he showed at times in 2007.

Do I blame the coaches for not recruiting more depth at d-line? Yes

Do I think the coaches recruited poorly? No

Furthermore, I said that Downs, Davenport, and Lavar Edwards would all help our d-line over the next several years. They could all be busts and end up under performing. Or they could all be All-Americans. I don't think either of those scenarios will happen, but I feel that each will be solid players in the future.

If we win this week and the next.... I think this season would be great. If we lose to Ole Miss, it puts us with the label of being the 3rd best team in the SEC this year. If we lose to Arky... it means we cant beat teams we should beat. I went to the BAMA game and Ill take that loss any day of the week. I have a problem with our players not having any motivation to beat the living shite out of teams we should beat. If this trend continues next year, with losing to Fla., Bama, and possibly OM and Arky.... I think its time for a change.

Miles-haters on here say they'd rather have Petey in Baton Rouge!

shhh...keep that down. you know folks love them some Pete on TD.

now, they may not love the concensus top 5 2009 preseason Petey, and they'll gloss over the fact that he lost (at home) in the biggest cfb upset ever...but nonetheless they heart them some Petey around here.

Why does Chavis get a pass just because he's better than Malveto? D is under performing if you ask me. Inability to get pressure on QB's will really rear its head next 2 games.

D is pretty highly ranked in the SEC and overall.

Ask yourself if the football team is in better shape now or when CLM took over. The answer to me is when he took over. Ask the same question about UF, Bama, and Ga Tech - all teams with great coaches. We are on a slow walk (getting quicker) towards the middle of the pack.

I would hope that those programs would all be better now than they were when their current coaches took over. Considering, all the previous coaches were fired from their jobs (read: had piss poor seasons).

The difference with LSU is that we didn't fire our HC before Miles took over, he left us. Had NS had two consecutive piss-poor seasons before he left (or hypothetical fired), everyone would think the position that LSU is in right now would be in better shape.

Personally, I think we are about the same. We could have a 11-win season (just as easily as we could have a 8-5 season at this point). And I would be perfectly fine. I think the program will only get better in the next couple of years with experience of a few positions.
