I see people walking around with LSU hats on all the time and no one ever tells them anything.

its always going to be this way because there are too many small schools in the state all competing against eachother and holding eachother back.
Sure but you can't fault the fanbase for trying.

Ah, it must never happen then.

Luckily for me, nobody at Southeastern cares about LSU. I actually used my Southeastern student I.D. to get into the LSU-SLU baseball game at SLU last season wearing all my LSU gear, and got absolutely no crap whatsoever.
I see it on campus every so often. One of the Lion's Roar editors even wrote an editorial complaining about it a couple of semesters ago. It included, "Just because you weren't smart enough to get into LSU (or dropped out of there) means you should wear their colors and logos on our campus."
whose colors do they suggest students wear?
southeastern's?

Some of this same stuff has happened to me while attending ULL. This isn't isolated to just him.

Gotcha, lol.
Granted there aren't that many, but SLU does have its share of green/gold blooded world-beaters on campus that give you death looks for wearing any shade of purple and gold.
If they wouldn't charge $30 for a decent t-shirt, I might buy their stuff. Not to mention the sweatshirts start at like $50.

No one gave me an education. I earned it, I paid for it, I will support any dang school I want no matter the opinion of some control freaks who feel they should have some say so in my business.

Exactly.
I support my school by paying them tuition. Have you ever looked at the individual charges that are derived from tuition: cheerleader dues, student gov dues, activity board dues, etc. The student pays for just about every major club or group on campus, including the sports teams.
Football is a matter of recreation for me, and I enjoy watching and supporting LSU. It has absolutely nothing to do with my academics.

Me too. I have a damn strong psychology exam tomorrow, so I need to go work up a gameplan.

Gents, it's simple. Everyone has favorite teams. I feel a few people have some valid points in this discussion, both UL & LSU fans. The last LSU game I went to was in 07. I am a HUGE UL fan. Did I go over to Baton Rouge wearing Vermilion & White? No, I found a yellow polo and barrowed a friends LSU hat. I think I would have been a douche for going to a LSU game in UL appeal.
I know there are some UL students who grew up huge fans of LSU. That is great! One of my friends who graduated from LSU came with me to the UL/K-State game. He asked for a shirt, I gave him one. He wasn't out there to say, "oh, ulala, yall are a little college team who can't do shite", no, he went and enjoyed the hell out of the damn game. And now, we are having a friendly "talk-shite" session which has been pretty funny.
I think LSU is a good college and has a great sports program. I think UL is a great college and has a descent sports program, very good in some cases. Football has needed some work, but we are making improvements.
Point is, why go to UL and wear a LSU hat or shirt? I know you are a fan, but you have to understand other students/teachers who would be pissed if you go flaunting another school, that you don't attend, and rub it in their face. Dude, go to LSU or just respect the school you are attending. I guess you were the guy who passed down congress yelling "Tiger Bait" last game.

You know it's bad when the under armour in the campus bookstore is cheaper than it's generic cotton SLU logo counterpart.

Thats a COMPLETLEY diffrent story...those schools are rivals of LSU...ULL is not a rival of LSU, but man they really think they are...
