First off it is nice to get a win after dropping a couple in a row but however I am not a fan of Miles. Even though I am not a fan of Les Miles we are three plays away from being in Bama's shoes. 1 being Oklahoma State missing the field goal against Iowa State. If they make that we stomp them on 1/9/12. Another is Honeybadger getting kicked off the team and the Yeldon screen play in 2012. If TM7 doesn't get kicked off there is no doubt in my mind we win the national championship that year. Even without him we had Bama beat that year. If we win that game we go on to win it all more than likely. Another is the last 50 seconds of the Bama LSU game this past year. We had them beat! As bad as it may seem to some of y'all we are on the brink of being elite and if the ball had bounced out way 2/3 times we are "elite." Point of this post is maybe some of you all will realize it's not as bad as you think it is to be an LSU fan. At least you don't have to pull for Auburn, TAMU, ARK, or Florida which none of them have made a bowl each of the last 15 years like we have. Appreciate what we have and get behind these players and coaching staff to finish out this season with a bowl win. GEAUX TIGERS!

Sad thing is, with even an average passing attack LSU is at least 11-1 this year. Next year the D will be even better than this year, and if they can get the ball to the receivers, watch out. Gonna be fun......

Honestly unless there's some all world kid we don't know about, only 3 games we should struggle with are Aub, Bama, & Arky. All except BAMA in TS

I think 10-2 is realistic, just have to see where chips fall

Missing a few pieces, and somewhat inconsistent, but there is a bright future ahead for y'all if you sew that up. The secondary and the D in general was very good last night, and LF's run was just sick.

Sucks that you can only keep guys like that for another 2 seasons, but he's definitely got the "wow" factor. That was BoJacksonesque.

It is nice to play what if. However Elite teams overcome these one off situations you mentioned.

Elite teams can play a bad game against a good team and still win-

Elite teams consists of talented players who are developed and coached correctly.

Elite teams have a QB who can lead, and win a couple of games a year on his back.

Elite teams have a head coach who can coach and win a couple of games a year on his back

Close only counts in horeshoes and hand grenades

Ok 756,

So by your definition of elite, name 5 teams who have been consistently elite for the last 5 years.

Alabama,

Oh wait, then it gets tough...

If you eliminated the QB position, we've been the best team in the country for the past decade.

The Gumps get their annual special treatment from the SEC HQ which is what puts them over the top. Being in bed with ESPN over the SEC Network is what got the Gumps to the title game against us. Oklahoma State could've beaten Oklahoma by 100 points and they still would've been bypassed.

You missed a valuable point. The reason we aren't elite starts at the top of the pyramid. Only a les miles coached team could make a game interesting where you out gain your opponent 500-200 but les will do just enough to stick around and make us suffer with 3 & 4 loss seasons

The heart breaking gut wrenching truth is that in the last few years they can't win the games that mattered, so no they are not elite yet and close don't put trophy's in the case. I have lost faith in Miles to win those games, he has the players but just can't seem to get it done and now the weaker teams are catching up and beating them when they should not even be in the game. For me it's just frustrating to watch them and even worse how they play after Bama beats them the last few years.

Will hear this for 4th straight offseason. Not buying it. Get ready off another average 3 loss season next year. It Miles specialty.

Point out how many times the ball did bounce our way and how close we are to being Miami.
