Hilarious you're calling him an idiot when you obviously are still ignorant to the rookie wage scale. There is a measurable glass ceiling between the second and third round, and nothing Kwon could have done would have allowed him to break into that value level. Add his injury history, and he absolutely made the right decision.

And you know this how? You are saying he couldn't have done better than the fourth round? I strongly disagree

I love how all of the "experts" pretend to know the answer to your question. Using common sense...you would have to believe that he could add some weight and another year of solid stats. He could rise some but probably not much higher than late 2nd or upper 3rd round. If he believes that he has the talent to get to a 2nd NFL contract, it's simply a matter of weighting the slot delta between say #80 and #124. He's had a previous injury so he had a definite risk/reward factor in his decision. I'd say he probably made the right decision.

In Hunter's case, it's been well established that he has all of the intangibles (size, speed) but is lacking in technique. His ceiling in the 2016 draft was upper 1st round and that is a considerable difference in $...and guaranteed $ at that. History tells us that GM's will reach very high for DE's. He made a mistake. If he had any confidence in Coach O to teach him how to use his hands in pursuit, he should have stayed. He simply needed better sack stats and that alone would have probably pushed him into Rd1...and possibly top 15.

Based on what? The knock on him is his height, not his production. He could have gained another ten lbs and maybe gotten into the third but the way the wage scale is now that's almost the same money and risk of being cut. You guys are still thinking about the draft as it was before the last CBA. Things are different, and if you don't think you can play your way into the second or better with another year, like La'el almost did, then you go and get started on your rookie contract. The NFL owners fought tooth and nail for this and it's working out exactly how they wanted. Everyone after about the middle of the third is a glorified free agent, from a salary standpoint. If you don't believe me google the numbers for yourself.

This might be the stupidest thing you have ever posted. If Curran from Georgia who was shorter than Kwon can go third round then Kwon sure as shite could have upped his stock next year. And the rookie wage scale has no bearing on signing bonus by round

Yes, if you are not a first rounder and can improve you should come back. I know people with poor man mentality disagree. There are people who drop out of school to because they can get a job as an electrician.

The signing bonuses are pathetic after the second round and represent a fraction of the contract's value. Stop trying to defend that ignorant opinion.

Stop having dumb comments. Like I said you have no idea what can or can't happen in a year and if Curran can go 3rd than Kwon sure as shite could have gone 2nd next year

So a guy who washed out of the league in less than a year after being an all American is your proof Kwon can play his way into the second round?

Good god
